Square Enix released FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Version 1.030 on April 11, 2024. Its most important player-facing fix addresses Chapter 12’s “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” side quest: after installing the update, you must meet the G Bike completion conditions again to proceed, but completed progress levels are not reset. These are historical patch notes, not the current version information for every platform.
FF7 Rebirth Version 1.030 patch notes
Square Enix describes Version 1.030 as an update with bug fixes and improvements to functionality and stability. The official Version 1.030 notice lists the following changes:
- Fixed an issue in Chapter 12’s “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” side quest that could prevent it from progressing after the required G Bike conditions had been met. After applying the update, meet the G Bike completion conditions again to proceed. If you had already completed the quest, your progress levels are not reset.
- Fixed an issue affecting several Phenomenon Intel quests when completed in a specific order.
- Fixed a rare Combat Simulator issue that could prevent new courses from unlocking correctly.
- Fixed an issue where intimacy levels might not increase after qualifying dialogue choices under specific conditions.
- Addressed an issue that could prevent the “Cactuar Crusher” trophy from being earned despite meeting its requirements.
- Fixed several save-data loading issues that occurred under specific conditions, as well as other issues that could force the game to shut down or prevent progress.
- Repeated reads of previous FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE save data now refer to the status from the last save file read.
- Fixed several display-related issues.
How to continue “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” after updating
- Install Version 1.030.
- Return to the Chapter 12 side quest and meet the required G Bike completion conditions again.
- Proceed with the quest once those conditions are fulfilled. Square Enix says progress levels are not reset if you had already completed the quest.
The renewed G Bike requirement applies to proceeding with the quest after the update; Square Enix’s note does not say that completed progress levels are erased.
Is Version 1.030 the latest FF7 Rebirth update?
No. Version 1.030 is a historical release dated April 11, 2024. Square Enix’s update-history page includes releases posted after it, so 1.030 should not be treated as the latest update.

Version identifiers also differ by platform. Square Enix’s platform update notice covers PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Check the notice for the platform you play on rather than assuming a version number listed for one edition applies to another.
