M12S is AAC Heavyweight M4 Savage, the final encounter of Dawntrail’s Arcadion Heavyweight tier. The fight has two parts: a door boss, then Lindwurm. For Lindwurm, the current Icy Veins guide recommends two light parties, each containing one tank, one healer, and two DPS; agree on your group’s waymarks, board, and callouts before the pull.
What M12S is and how to enter
M12S is the common shorthand for AAC Heavyweight M4 Savage, the fourth encounter in the final Arcadion tier. Square Enix describes Heavyweight as the conclusion of the Arcadion raid series. Savage difficulty opened on January 6, 2026, as stated in the official Patch 7.4 announcement.
- Level and party: Level 100, eight players.
- Access: Raid Finder. The official Patch 7.4 notes list an average item-level requirement of 770 and a 120-minute duty time limit.
- Unlock: Speak with Gabbro in Solution Nine as a level-100 Disciple of War or Magic after completing the relevant Chronicles of a New Era quest. The quest name is not reliably established here; check the in-game journal or current official Patch 7.4 notes rather than guessing.
- Full-party registration: Square Enix says item-level restrictions and role requirements do not apply when registering as a full party.
Understand the two-part fight
Door boss
The first half is the door boss. Its mechanics and marker arrangement are covered in the Icy Veins door-boss guide, which includes waymarks and strategy boards. That guide recommends placing the number 1 marker northeast, a choice it says differs from a common party-finder setup used in other fights. Treat that as one documented plan, not a universal convention.
Lindwurm
After the door boss comes Lindwurm, the post-door boss and loot boss. If your party wipes to Lindwurm, the current Lindwurm guide says you restart at Lindwurm rather than repeating the door boss. The arena is circular and has a death wall, so a knockback or misposition can send a player off the platform.

Set up your party and shared plan
Split into two light parties
The Lindwurm guide recommends two light parties, each with one tank, one healer, and two DPS. Assign players to each group before the pull so stack responsibilities and mechanic callouts are unambiguous.
Agree on markers and board before pulling
The Icy Veins guides provide separate waymark arrangements and strategy boards for the door boss and Lindwurm. The Lindwurm plan uses cardinal letter markers and additional number markers; its guide says intercardinal numbers can help with later mechanics but are not essential. Import the same board and marker layout across the group, then confirm orientation, role assignments, and relative directions aloud. Do not assume that every party uses the same party-finder convention.

For strategy-board resources and detailed mechanic diagrams, use the guides directly: door boss and Lindwurm. These are secondary strategy references, not official Square Enix instructions; board imports and recommendations may change.
Handle Lindwurm’s clone and debuff sequence
The Lindwurm guide’s Replication sequence depends on identifying the designated clone, assigning debuffs, and positioning relative to that clone. Because the mechanic is visual and the guide pairs its explanation with diagrams, use the current guide board to set exact locations rather than relying on prose alone.

- Keep the arena edge in mind: resolve mechanics with enough room to avoid the death wall.
Mitigate the later phase and recover from errors
The guide calls for healing and mitigation for Idyllic Dream, followed by preparation for a final Replication sequence and two Arcadian Hell raidwide hits. Healers and mitigation players should agree on cooldown coverage before the pull; the guide’s diagrams are the reference for the required positioning during the sequence.
If a player misses an assignment, prioritize a safe resolution over forcing the planned position through a cleave or into the death wall. The party should call out the affected side or group promptly, then re-form for the next mechanic. The cited guides do not establish one mandatory recovery callout scheme, so use concise calls that match your board and assignments.

Enrage estimate and DPS expectations
Icy Veins estimates Lindwurm’s enrage at approximately 9:14 and the overall DPS check at roughly 238,200. These are guide estimates, not official Square Enix encounter specifications, and can vary with patch, party composition, and measurement assumptions. Use them only as orientation when reviewing a pull.
What M12S awards
Square Enix’s Patch 7.4 notes list Grand Champion coffers for Savage completions. M4 Savage coffers yield weapons; the notes list an item-level 795 weapon coffer and item-level 790 armor and accessory coffers. The system also includes weekly loot eligibility and AAC Illustrated tokens that can be exchanged for gear. Specific eligibility and available loot depend on weekly lockout and party clear status; check the current official notes for live rules. The Icy Veins guide additionally lists possible first eligible weekly-clear rewards, including a weapon coffer, a random weapon, the Lowrider T1RANT Identification Key mount, Grooving Green minion, and The Arcadion Orchestrion Roll.
