The first listed main scenario quest is “In Fate’s Footsteps,” which starts with Krile in Solution Nine after you complete “Into the Mist.” Patch 7.5 also raises housing furnishing limits, adds the Dark Minimalist interior style, and sets a 400-furnishing on-screen display ceiling.
Is Patch 7.5 the end of Dawntrail’s story?
No. Square Enix describes Patch 7.5 as the first part of a two-part conclusion to the story told throughout the Dawntrail patch series. The official patch site calls the 7.5 installment Trail to the Heavens – Part 1. Its synopsis says the Warrior of Light and companions return from the Ninth and resume investigating the key, until an ally’s unsettling message threatens to change their focus. Square Enix’s Patch 7.5 site and publisher overview frame the patch as the start of that conclusion, not its end.

The next installment is listed separately as Trail to the Heavens – Part 2 under Patch 7.56. The official listing establishes the story structure, but does not establish a release date or whether Patch 7.56 is live. It also does not provide the later quest names in the inspected patch notes, so those details should not be inferred.
Where do I start the Patch 7.5 MSQ?
The first listed Patch 7.5 main scenario quest is In Fate’s Footsteps. It is a level 100 quest offered by Krile in Solution Nine at X:12.6, Y:6.0, after completion of Into the Mist. These entry details are from the official Patch 7.5 notes.

The official Patch 7.5 notes identify In Fate’s Footsteps as the first quest, but show later quest names and details as “???” in the inspected notes. The official pages establish that 7.5 contains Part 1 of the story installment and that Part 2 is assigned to Patch 7.56; they do not establish a complete quest count for Patch 7.5. A precise total cannot be confirmed from those listings.
How Patch 7.5 changes housing furnishing limits
Patch 7.5 increases the number of furnishings players can place. The Lodestone notes list these before-and-after limits:

| Housing type | Indoor furnishings | Outdoor furnishings |
|---|---|---|
| Apartments / private chambers | 100 → 150 | Not listed in the Patch 7.5 notes |
| Cottages | 200 → 300 | 20 → 40 |
| Houses | 300 → 450 | 30 → 60 |
| Mansions | 400 → 600 | 40 → 80 |
The figures are placement limits, not a promise that every item will appear on screen simultaneously. The patch notes say up to 400 furnishings can be displayed on-screen at once. If more than 400 would be visible at the same time, furnishings on floors other than the character’s floor stop displaying; smaller, more distant items are hidden first.
