Who to build around and develop
Use Zaha as the immediate attacking reference
With an 82 overall and 85 potential in the FIFA Index snapshot, Zaha is the standout listed outfield player. Building attacks to get him involved is a natural starting point, whether you prefer to carry the ball into space or use him to create openings for a striker. That is a role-based suggestion, not a claim that one setup has been tested as optimal.
Prioritize Wan-Bissaka and Meyer for growth
Wan-Bissaka’s listed 78 overall and 86 potential make him the clearest long-term development prospect among the top-rated names. Meyer is listed at 78/82 and offers a smaller but still meaningful gap. FIFA Index also lists Jaïro Riedewald at 73/80, Alexander Sørloth at 73/79 and Nya Kirby at 59/79. Kirby’s lower current overall makes his development a longer-term project compared with the established starters.

When deciding who to play, weigh current performance and role coverage against potential. A high potential number alone does not establish how quickly a player will improve or whether he is ready to start now.
How to set up tactics and manage matches
FIFA Index records Palace’s default defensive style, offensive style and build-up as Balanced. Use that as a neutral first match setup, then make deliberate changes according to your preferred risk and the opponent. The database labels are a baseline, not proof of a best formation or competitive tactic.

EA’s FIFA 19 PC manual describes Team Management as the place to “Create your Squad, adjust formations, assign roles, and manage tactics.” It also says you can save several Team Sheets, selecting a setup “to exploit your opponent’s weakness or rest your star players for future games.”
- Open Team Management before a match and choose the formation and player roles you want to use.
- Start with Palace’s Balanced defensive style, offensive style and build-up as listed in the FIFA Index snapshot.
- Adjust tactics to suit the matchup and the level of risk you want; do not assume that a setting is universally best.
- Save additional Team Sheets for a different matchup or to rotate players, then select the sheet you need before the relevant game.
FIFA 19 also advertises Active Touch, Dynamic Tactics, 50/50 Battles and Timed Finishing as prominent gameplay systems. EA’s manual lists Timed Finishing as a second, timed shot input in the controls. These are game features, not evidence that any one mechanic gives Palace a specific advantage.
