The same Minecraft version, Forge loader, pack release, mods and configuration files must be used by every client and by the server. A Modpacks.ch listing crawled in 2026 names Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip as a matching dedicated-server archive, but the listing is not a substitute for checking the official project release: confirm that 0.5.0 is still the release you intend to run, and verify the Java version, RAM requirement and server port in the files you download.

What Fight or Blight is and what must match
A modpack is more than a list of jar files. CurseForge describes a profile as a collection of settings and files required to launch a custom modded Minecraft: Java Edition instance. Those files can include the modloader, configuration, scripts and resource data that determine how the pack behaves.
For Fight or Blight, the identified compatibility target is:
#1 Best Overall
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10

- access new mini games and game modes through servers
| Item | Identified value | What you must verify |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft | 1.19.2 | Every client and the server must run 1.19.2, not a newer or older Minecraft release. |
| Modloader | Forge | Use the Forge build required by the selected pack release. A Fabric or NeoForge installation is not interchangeable. |
| Pack release | 0.5.0 is named by a Modpacks.ch listing crawled in 2026 | Check the official project page or release files for the current release before installing. |
| Dedicated server archive | Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip is named by that listing |
Download the server archive that belongs to exactly the same release as the clients. Do not use a client export as a server. |
| Java version, minimum RAM and default port | Not stated in the available project information | Read the official release notes, installer output and server files. Do not assume a version or memory value. |
CurseForge marks a mod and profile as incompatible when their Minecraft versions or modloaders do not line up. A server can appear to start while still rejecting players if one of these layers differs, so check them before investigating individual mods.
Install Fight or Blight on a client with CurseForge
The CurseForge App is the most straightforward route when the pack is listed there. It creates a separate profile, keeps the pack’s files together and gives each player the same launch context.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Open the Minecraft area. Start the CurseForge App and select Minecraft from the game list.
- Find the pack. Search for “Fight or Blight.” Choose the project entry that identifies Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge. If you received an export or profile file from the pack author, use the app’s import option instead of mixing files into an unrelated instance.
- Install or import the profile. Let the app create a dedicated instance. Do not copy individual mods from another pack into it.
- Check the profile metadata. Before launching, open the profile details and confirm Minecraft 1.19.2 and the Forge loader. If the app offers several releases, select the same release that your server archive uses.
- Launch once. The first launch creates configuration folders, libraries and other required files. Allow it to finish at the title screen, then exit normally.
- Keep the profile unchanged while testing. Adding a mod made for another Minecraft version or loader can make the combination incompatible. Add nothing until you have confirmed that the unmodified pack connects to the server.
Preparing every friend’s client
Each player should install the same profile release rather than building a personal approximation. Compare the profile’s Minecraft version, Forge loader and release number. If the server administrator distributes a configuration update, replace the old configuration files as instructed and restart the app before joining.
Do not solve a connection error by deleting random mods. First compare the client and server manifests, then correct the version or loader mismatch that the error identifies. A clean, identical profile is easier to repair than a hand-edited one.

Set up a dedicated Fight or Blight server yourself
Self-hosting gives you control over the machine, files, backups and exact release, but you are responsible for installation, firewall rules, port forwarding, updates and recovery. The following process is deliberately release-neutral where the project has not published a fixed command or requirement.
1. Collect the matching files
- Obtain the Fight or Blight server archive for the same release installed by clients. The identified listing names
Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip; verify the filename and checksum or release notes from the official project before relying on it. - Obtain the Forge server installer or launcher requested by that release.
- Confirm the Java runtime required by the official files. The available project information does not establish a Java major version, so do not copy a requirement from an unrelated modpack.
- Choose a machine with enough free storage for the initial files, world growth, backups and logs. The pack’s minimum RAM is not stated; use the server’s documented recommendation and monitor memory rather than guessing.
2. Create a clean server directory
Make a new directory used only for this server. Extract the server archive into it without nesting the contents inside an unexpected extra folder. A clean directory prevents old configs, worlds and libraries from another pack being loaded accidentally.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Keep the archive and the original release notes outside the live world directory as a recovery copy. Do not overwrite a working server with files from a different pack release.
3. Install or invoke the matching Forge server
Run the Forge server installer or startup method specified by the release files, selecting the clean directory as the server location. Forge must be the loader for the same Minecraft version shown in the client profile. If the installer reports a different Minecraft target, stop and obtain the matching build instead of continuing.

4. Perform the first launch
Start the server once from its directory. The first run normally creates the EULA file, configuration folders, libraries and a preliminary world. The exact launcher filename and Java command are release-dependent, so follow the startup script or command supplied with the archive rather than inventing one.
5. Accept the EULA and review configuration
Stop the process after the first run, open the generated EULA file and accept it only if you agree to Minecraft’s terms. Review the server configuration before inviting anyone:
- Check that the Forge and Minecraft versions reported in the console match the client profile.
- Confirm that the expected Fight or Blight mods and configuration files are present.
- Set the world name, difficulty, whitelist and operator permissions deliberately.
- Read
server.propertiesfor the actual listening port and address settings. The default port is not established for this pack, so use the value in your generated file. - Decide where automated or manual world backups will be stored. A backup on the same disk is useful for quick recovery but does not protect against disk failure; copy important backups to another location.
6. Start to a ready state
Start the server again and wait until the console reports that it has finished loading and is ready for connections. Do not distribute the address while Forge is still loading mods. Connect locally first if possible, then test from a second account or a friend’s connection.
7. Make it reachable
For players outside your home network, allow the server application through the host firewall and forward the port shown in server.properties from your router to the server machine. The public address is normally your external IP or a DNS name plus that port. Never publish your router’s administration credentials, and use a whitelist while testing.

Players on the same local network can use the host’s private address. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary port forwarding may not work; in that case choose a managed host or another private networking solution rather than exposing random ports.
Managed hosting through CurseForge
CurseForge documents a hosted-server flow that selects a modpack with a matching server pack, then asks the owner to choose a plan, region, server name and payment. Its guide says the service can create a server without manual file uploads or port forwarding. CurseForge states that Shockbyte performs setup and support, while Tebex handles billing.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Current availability, pricing and eligibility should be checked in the hosting flow before purchase. The documented tiers are:
| Plan | Monthly price | Memory | Shared CPUs | Listed player range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | $12 per month | 4 GB RAM | 2 | 1–5 players |
| Gold | $24 per month | 8 GB RAM | 3 | 6–15 players |
| Diamond | $36 per month | 12 GB RAM | 4 | 16–25 players |
These are the published plan figures, not a benchmark of Fight or Blight’s actual performance. The pack’s exact runtime requirement has not been established, so treat the player bands as provider guidance rather than a guarantee. Start with a tier that leaves memory headroom, watch the console and tick performance, and resize if the provider allows it.

Hosted setup steps
- Open the CurseForge server-creation flow and search for Fight or Blight.
- Confirm that the result offers a matching server pack. Some modpacks expose multiple server ZIP versions; select the filename that matches the client release before paying.
- Choose a region close to most players. A nearby region generally reduces network latency, while a distant region can make combat and block interactions feel delayed.
- Select a plan based on the number of concurrent players and observed memory use, then set the server name.
- Complete payment through the displayed billing process and wait for provisioning. Shockbyte handles setup and support under the documented arrangement.
- Open the finished server’s console, confirm that the correct pack and Forge version loaded, and copy the assigned address and port.
Invite friends without manual mod installation
CurseForge supports a direct link or import code that adds the existing server’s modpack, IP and connection details to a friend’s CurseForge App. The link or code is time-limited, so send it shortly before your friends install the profile. They should still check that the imported profile shows the same release, Minecraft version and Forge loader before launching.

| Decision factor | Self-hosted server | Managed CurseForge server |
|---|---|---|
| Initial work | Download the server archive, install Forge, accept the EULA, configure files and test networking. | Select a matching server pack, plan, region and name in a guided flow. |
| Recurring cost | No hosting subscription, but you provide electricity, storage and internet capacity. | Published tiers are $12, $24 or $36 per month; check current prices at checkout. |
| Networking | You handle firewall rules, port forwarding and a changing public IP. | The documented flow removes manual port forwarding. |
| Control | Full access to worlds, scripts, backups, logs and pinned files. | Provider tools simplify administration but may limit low-level access. |
| Backups and restarts | You must schedule, test and store backups and arrange restart monitoring. | Check which backup, restore and restart features are included in the selected plan; they are not established by the plan table alone. |
| Latency | Depends on your home connection and where the host machine is located. | Choose a region near the players. |
| Release pinning | Keep the exact server ZIP and client profile under your control. | Verify the selected server-pack filename because a project may expose multiple versions. |
Choose self-hosting when you are comfortable maintaining a Java server and router, need direct file access, or want to control every update. Choose managed hosting when avoiding port forwarding and maintenance is worth a recurring fee, especially for a group that plays from different networks.
Can Modrinth tools install Fight or Blight?
Modrinth defines a modpack as mods bundled with additional files such as configuration files. Its ecosystem includes the Modrinth App for clients, Modrinth Servers, mrpack-install and the itzg/minecraft-server Docker image for server-side use.
Those are general alternatives, not a confirmed Fight or Blight installation route. The available project information does not verify a current Modrinth publication for this pack. Use Modrinth tooling only if the official Fight or Blight release explicitly provides a Modrinth-compatible pack or server package. Otherwise, use the identified Forge profile and matching server archive.
Troubleshoot the failures that matter most
| Symptom | Likely cause | Correction |
|---|---|---|
| “Incompatible mod set” or a version rejection | Client and server use different Minecraft versions, Forge builds, pack releases or configs. | Compare the profile metadata, server console and archive filenames. Reinstall the exact same release on both sides. |
| Server stops during startup | Wrong Java runtime, incomplete Forge installation, corrupt archive or a client-only file set. | Read the first error in the console, verify the Java requirement from the official files, rebuild a clean directory and use the dedicated server archive. |
| Server starts but friends cannot connect | Firewall or port-forwarding error, wrong public address, carrier-grade NAT or a provider provisioning issue. | Confirm the listening port in server.properties, allow it through the firewall, test locally, then test externally. Managed-host users should check the provider panel. |
| One player can join but another cannot | The second player imported a different release or changed configuration files. | Have that player remove the altered profile and import the same pack release again. |
| World loads with missing settings | Server configs were overwritten or the archive was extracted into the wrong directory. | Stop the server, restore the intended configuration backup and verify the directory that the startup script actually uses. |
| Managed provisioning remains stuck | The host has not completed deployment. | If it remains stuck for more than five minutes, inspect the provider control panel and contact Shockbyte support through the documented channel. |
A short pre-session checklist
- Client and server both report Minecraft 1.19.2 and the matching Forge loader.
- Every player uses the same Fight or Blight release and configuration set.
- The server uses the dedicated server archive, not a client-only export.
- The console reaches a ready state before anyone connects.
- The configured port is open only where needed, and the whitelist or operator list is intentional.
- A recent world backup exists and has a known restore location.
- Hosted users verified the server-pack filename and region before purchase.
What is confirmed and what still needs checking
The strongest compatibility information currently available identifies Fight or Blight as a Forge 1.19.2 pack and names Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip as a dedicated-server archive. Because that listing was not directly retrievable and does not establish the latest release, verify the official project page before downloading. The same verification step must establish Java, memory and port requirements; none of those values should be guessed from another modpack.
Once those values are confirmed, the reliable rule is simple: install the exact pack release on every client, deploy its matching server archive, and keep Minecraft and Forge identical across the whole group. Managed hosting removes much of the networking work, while self-hosting provides the greatest control.
