Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for October 22, 2026. A complete file requires more than finishing the chapters: recover all eight elemental crystals, recruit 26 Visions, clear every side quest and Colosseum bracket, finish the Chamber of Arms and every Esper trial, defeat Gilgamesh and Sephiroth, collect all equipment and accessories, and unlock every trophy. The main story is estimated at 30–40 hours, while a completionist run is estimated at 60–80 hours by the current walkthrough source. Those figures are estimates, not official Square Enix playtime figures.
What counts as 100% completion?
The current full-game checklist defines completion across story progression, collection, optional battles and achievements. Use it as a working target rather than a guaranteed trophy roadmap: the game has not released, and definitive trophy conditions, final quest totals and missable-item rules have not yet been published.

| Category | Completion target | What is currently known |
|---|---|---|
| Elemental crystals | 8 | Earth, Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Light and Dark |
| Visions | 26 | Recruit every Vision; abilities learned from one Vision can remain equipped with another within the cost limit |
| Side quests | All available quests | Quest NPCs are marked with a quest symbol; the complete final count is not yet established |
| Colosseum | Every bracket | The full bracket structure and rewards are launch-sensitive |
| Chamber of Arms | Complete the chamber | The full encounter and reward details are not yet confirmed |
| Esper trials | Every trial | The community database currently lists 13 trials, but its full vault opens at launch |
| Gilgamesh | Encounter and defeat Gilgamesh | Gilgamesh is listed as an optional fight in Chapter 1 and also appears as a 100% requirement |
| Sephiroth | Complete the Sephiroth challenge | Treat this as a late or postgame challenge until the released game confirms its unlock conditions |
| Equipment | Collect all equipment and accessories | Early database coverage lists 103 equipment entries; that is not a confirmed final total |
| Trophies | Unlock all trophies | Individual trophy conditions remain unconfirmed before launch |
Because the release build is not available yet, do not treat any community count as an official in-game total. Mark each item in a personal checklist only after the game records the relevant objective, reward or trophy.

Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026. The free PlayStation 5 demo contains the entire first chapter. Square Enix Senior Marketing Manager Mel Gordon states: “Save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game.” That means a demo playthrough is intended to become the opening of your full-game file rather than a disposable trial.

The demo chapter is called “Tailing the Truth.” It runs from Grandshelt Castle to a ship leaving Grandport. The current chapter walkthrough records 18 objectives, four story bosses and three optional fights in this slice. The demo is therefore useful for learning the timeline-based combat system, collecting any available early rewards and deciding whether to continue the same file, but it cannot establish the final number of quests, trophies, equipment or postgame challenges.
Square Enix’s support hub has dedicated game and getting-started sections, including a demo-save-transfer support article. The fetched support page does not expose the article’s full text, so use the in-game or current support instructions on release if a transfer prompt does not appear automatically.
Main story route and chapter progression
Chapter 1: “Tailing the Truth”
Begin in Grandshelt Castle and follow the chapter objectives toward Grandport. The chapter ends when the ship leaves Grandport. The walkthrough’s 18-objective count is a useful progress check: if your chapter menu shows fewer objectives completed, you have not reached the end of the demo slice.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe four documented story bosses are:
- Belmodar
- Hell’s Rider
- The Hunger
- Siren
The three documented optional fights are Antlion, Marauder and Gilgamesh. Optional does not mean irrelevant for a 100% file: Gilgamesh is explicitly included in the full completion checklist, so record that fight and confirm its reward before leaving the relevant area.
Later regions and the full arc
The broader walkthrough organizes the remaining journey through Grandshelt, Earth Shrine, Mitra, Dilmagia, Olderion, Zoldaad and Mysidia. It does not provide a launch-verified list of every objective or boss in those chapters. The chapter source says the remaining story opens on October 22, 2026, so later route details are subject to change until the game is available.

For a first playthrough, follow the active chapter objective and use the map marker rather than guessing the next destination. When a new region opens, pause before advancing the main objective and perform a completion sweep: speak to every NPC with a quest symbol, check accessible chests, review newly available equipment, look for Vision recruitment opportunities and inspect challenge entrances. This approach reduces cleanup without pretending that every item is currently confirmed to be missable.
How combat systems affect completion planning
Timeline and stagger
Combat displays the upcoming action order on a timeline. Use it to decide whether to attack for damage, heal before an enemy turn or focus on stagger. Reducing an enemy’s stagger gauge prevents that enemy from taking its turn and lowers its defense. In optional fights and trials, stopping a dangerous turn can be more valuable than immediately selecting the party’s strongest damage ability.
Visions and ability costs
Events involving characters can grant Visions. Abilities learned from one Vision can remain equipped with another, provided the setup stays within the cost limit. For completion, maintain a record of every Vision you recruit rather than assuming a learned ability means the Vision itself has been obtained. A Vision collection count and an ability loadout are separate pieces of progress.
Espers
Story and side-quest progress unlock Espers. An Esper fights beside the party for three turns, then performs a finishing move before disappearing. Treat each Esper trial as its own completion item: unlock the trial, clear it, verify the reward and mark it complete. The current database lists 13 Esper trials, but that is an early database figure and not a confirmed final total.
Side quests: finding, tracking and finishing them
Side quests come from NPCs marked with a quest symbol. The quest menu shows the next objective and current progress, and tracking a quest places its objective on the map. This gives you an in-game method to manage active work without relying on an external list.

A safe side-quest routine
- Scan the settlement or field area. Speak to every NPC displaying the quest symbol before you advance the main objective.
- Accept and read each quest entry. Confirm that the quest appears in the quest menu and note its current progress.
- Track one objective at a time. Tracking places the target on the map and prevents route confusion when several quests point to the same region.
- Complete the marked task and return. Do not assume a delivered item or defeated enemy completes the quest; check the menu for the final turn-in or reward.
- Rescan after major story events. New characters, regions and story milestones can create additional quest symbols.
- Record rewards. Note equipment, Vision access, Esper access or challenge unlocks so that a later checklist can distinguish an unfinished quest from a completed quest whose reward is already collected.
The available side-quest guide is explicitly based on the demo. It should not be presented as the final full-game quest list. No definitive final quest count or universal missable rule has been established before launch, so the safest policy is to clear marked quests in each region before crossing a major story point whenever practical.

Crystals
- Earth crystal
- Fire crystal
- Water crystal
- Ice crystal
- Wind crystal
- Lightning crystal
- Light crystal
- Dark crystal
Check each crystal when the game records its recovery. The checklist specifies eight elemental crystals, but the sources do not establish their exact chapter locations.
Visions
Recruit all 26 Visions. Keep a numbered list or use the game’s collection screen if it supplies one. Do not count a Vision ability as a substitute for recruiting the associated Vision, because the combat system allows abilities learned from one Vision to be equipped with another within the cost limit.
Side quests and regional content
Complete every side quest, then revisit the quest menu after each major story milestone. Clear accessible chests, inspect merchants and equipment lists, and enter newly unlocked locations before moving on. This is a risk-management practice, not proof that every chest or quest is permanently missable.
Optional fights and challenges
- Defeat Antlion.
- Defeat Marauder.
- Encounter and defeat Gilgamesh.
- Clear every Colosseum bracket.
- Complete the Chamber of Arms.
- Finish every Esper trial.
- Complete the Sephiroth challenge.
Antlion, Marauder and Gilgamesh are the three optional fights listed for Chapter 1. Gilgamesh’s separate appearance in the 100% checklist is why you should verify the encounter in your completion log rather than assuming that seeing the character is enough.

Collection and achievements
- Collect all equipment.
- Collect all accessories.
- Unlock all trophies.
The early community database lists 103 equipment entries, but the full vault opens at launch. Use that number only as an interim reference and do not treat it as the final collection total.
Story-first or completionist route?
| Decision point | Story-first run | Completionist run |
|---|---|---|
| Spoiler exposure | Lower: follow chapter objectives and avoid optional areas until needed | Higher: investigate every region, NPC and challenge as it becomes available |
| Time commitment | Closer to the estimated 30–40-hour main-story range | Closer to the estimated 60–80-hour completionist range |
| Side-quest timing | Postpone optional jobs, accepting more cleanup later | Check quest symbols and finish available jobs before major advances |
| Missable-risk management | Relies on revisiting regions and checking postgame access | Uses a regional sweep before progressing, reducing uncertainty |
| Combat preparation | Invest in the current story party and mandatory encounters | Collect gear, Vision options, Espers and optional rewards as they unlock |
| Postgame cleanup | Likely larger, because optional content was deferred | Reserved mainly for activities that require late-game access or final challenge unlocks |
A story-first file is sensible if you want to avoid spoilers or learn the systems before committing to a long checklist. A completionist file is better if you dislike backtracking and are willing to inspect every newly opened area. Either route can be valid, but the pre-release evidence does not prove that every activity remains available after each story transition.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Recommended postgame order
The full walkthrough recommends this order for cleanup and challenge progression:
- Colosseum: clear brackets first and use the resulting gear to strengthen the party.
- Esper trials: complete the summon trials once the improved equipment makes their fights manageable.
- Chamber of Arms: finish the chamber for its weapon rewards and related completion credit.
- Sephiroth: attempt the Sephiroth challenge last, after the optional progression systems are complete.
This is a recommended order, not a confirmed requirement. The released game may allow a different sequence, and exact unlock conditions are not yet documented.

How long does 100% take?
The current walkthrough estimates 30–40 hours for the main story and 60–80 hours for completionist play. The second figure includes side quests, collections, optional fights, Colosseum brackets, the Chamber of Arms, Esper trials, Gilgamesh, Sephiroth, equipment, accessories and trophies. These are source-attributed estimates for 2026, not measured guarantees. Difficulty, reading speed, exploration habits, failed challenge attempts and the amount of postgame cleanup will change the actual total.

What the early database can and cannot confirm
A community database currently advertises 16 character profiles, 22 of 26 Vision profiles, 13 Esper trials, 103 early equipment entries, 24 mapped places and 74 bestiary entries. It also states that the full vault opens at launch. These figures are useful for spotting incomplete coverage, but they are database-status figures rather than confirmed in-game totals.
| Database item | Advertised pre-launch figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Character profiles | 16 | Current profile coverage, not necessarily the final playable or recruitable cast |
| Vision profiles | 22 of 26 | Four profiles are not yet listed in the database; the checklist target remains 26 |
| Esper trials | 13 | Early listing; confirm the final total after launch |
| Equipment entries | 103 early entries | Not a confirmed all-equipment total |
| Mapped places | 24 | Current database map coverage |
| Bestiary entries | 74 | Current database coverage, not a stated trophy requirement |
Practical checklist for every region
Use this sequence whenever the story opens a settlement, dungeon or field area:
- Open the map and identify every accessible branch, side path and marked objective.
- Speak with every NPC carrying a quest symbol and confirm the quest appears in the menu.
- Track the quest whose destination is closest, then complete and turn it in before switching regions.
- Check shops and equipment screens for newly available gear and accessories.
- Look for Vision recruitment events and record the Vision separately from any abilities it teaches.
- Inspect challenge entrances, including Colosseum, Esper and Chamber of Arms access points, when they become available.
- Fight clearly marked optional encounters if your party is prepared, especially the Chapter 1 fights listed for Antlion, Marauder and Gilgamesh.
- Before advancing the chapter, review the quest menu, collection screens and any regional map markers one more time.
If a door, challenge or quest is unavailable, record its name and the story milestone shown by the game instead of assuming it is permanently missed. That note gives you a reliable cleanup target after the main story.
Known limits before launch
The strongest confirmed pre-release facts are the October 22, 2026 release date, the PS5 demo’s complete first chapter, demo-save carryover, the Chapter 1 boss and optional-fight list, the broad regional route, the 100% checklist categories and the walkthrough’s time estimates. Exact final quest totals, definitive missable-item rules, trophy conditions and the complete postgame route remain unresolved until launch.
Plan with the checklist above, but verify the released game’s menus and support documentation before treating any item as permanently missable or any database count as final.
