Where to find Cthulhu in Fisch
In the historical Second Sea progression, the Cthulhu encounter was inside a crypt on the western side of Terrapin Island. The entrance was described as a wall behind the Sea Traveler NPC. This is an archived location, and it may no longer lead to an active encounter.
The encounter belonged to the Cursed Seas update, listed as version 1.26.0 on March 29, 2025 in the Official Fisch Wiki version history. A GINX guide published March 31, 2025 documents the original progression, but it predates the later community reports that the boss was removed.
How the historical Cthulhu fight worked
Pick up the Keeper’s Torch
After entering the crypt arena, pick up the Keeper’s Torch. The torch was the weapon used to attack Cthulhu; the fight depended on charging it with the correct flame rather than simply firing at the boss.

Match the flame to the color under the health bar
- Watch the color displayed beneath Cthulhu’s health bar.
- Find the arena platform with a flame of the matching color.
- Use that flame to imbue the Keeper’s Torch, then shoot Cthulhu.
- Check the displayed color again before the next attack and repeat the match.
The legacy Second Sea guide gives this color-matching rule. The community Cthulhu page describes six flame platforms and reports that a correctly colored hit dealt about one-third of a health-bar segment. Treat both the platform count and damage estimate as historical wiki descriptions, not verified mechanics in the current live game.
Avoid the boss’s attacks
- Ground slam: The historical guide recommends jumping and gliding to avoid the impact.
- Green fireball: Dodge away from its path.
The Second Sea guide also mentions using cover behind bars after the health bars were depleted, but the available descriptions differ in detail. Because the encounter is reported removed, that instruction and any presumed timing should not be treated as a dependable current strategy.

Did defeating Cthulhu unlock Second Sea?
In the old progression, defeating Cthulhu led players into Second Sea. Current community sources report that the boss and Second Sea content were removed, but the official version history cited above establishes the original update date—not present availability. If the Terrapin crypt or boss is absent in your live game, the archived walkthrough cannot unlock that progression for you.
