To get the Brother’s Rod in Fisch, speak with Luka at Isle of New Beginnings, find Kael at Cursed Shores, hand him three fish, retrieve the pendant he asks for, and then return to Luka, who awards the rod. The one point guides disagree on is where the pendant is: two detailed guides place it at Azure Lagoon, while a third names Lushgrove Island. Check your active quest objective if the location you see differs.
Route from start to rod
The quest runs in four stages. Coordinates below are the in-game positions listed by guide publishers, so treat them as approximate and use the on-screen objective marker if your character stands slightly off them.
- Talk to Luka at Isle of New Beginnings. Beebom places Luka at approximately X=-234, Y=77, Z=-406 and says this location is in Sea 2. Luka starts the chain that leads to Kael.
- Find Kael at Cursed Shores. Beebom gives X=-559, Y=84, Z=1824. Pro Game Guides gives X=-552.6, Y=84.3, Z=1818. Both place Kael near the lighthouse and coast, so the difference between the two coordinate sets is a few units and both point to the same area.
- Hand over three fish. Kael asks for any three fish. Beebom says you catch them yourself and hand them over at the island. Any species satisfies the request as reported; no guide lists a required species or size.
- Retrieve Kael’s pendant. Beebom and Pro Game Guides place the pendant at Azure Lagoon, around X=1369, Y=96, Z=2294. Droid Gamers names Lushgrove Island instead and gives no full coordinate. See the section below before you travel.
- Return to Luka. Bring the brothers back together at Isle of New Beginnings. Luka awards the Brother’s Rod after this interaction.
Where the pendant is, and what to do if it differs
The pendant location is the only material conflict in the route, and no official developer source confirms either version.
- Azure Lagoon: supported by Beebom and Pro Game Guides, and the only option with a full coordinate in two guides. This is the route to try first.
- Lushgrove Island: named by Droid Gamers without a position. It may reflect an older or newer version of the quest, or a different stage of it.
- If the objective marker points elsewhere: follow the marker in your current game. The quest objective reflects the live version, and the guides above may lag behind game updates.
What the Brother’s Rod does
The table lists the rod’s stats as reported by each guide and by an unofficial wiki. These are in-game item values, not measured test results or real-world statistics.

| Stat | Beebom (2025) | Pro Game Guides (2025) | Unofficial wiki (updated 24 September 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lure speed | 50% | 50% | 50% |
| Luck | 60% | 60% | 60% |
| Control | 0.1 | 0.1 | 0.1 |

| Maximum weight | 3,000 kg | 3,000 kg | 3,000 kg |
| Passive effect | Not stated | 10% chance to duplicate and mutate a fish | 10% passive chance |
The two sets of guides disagree only on resilience. The 10% figure comes from 2025 guides, and the 5% figure comes from the unofficial wiki updated in September 2026. Since the wiki is the more recent of the two, a 5% value may reflect a later balance change, but no official patch note in the available material confirms it. Use the number your in-game item tooltip shows.
Quest names you may see
The same quest is labelled differently across guides. Beebom calls it “Castaway’s Regret,” Pro Game Guides uses “Castaway,” and Droid Gamers calls it “The Lost Brother.” If your quest log shows a different title, match it to the NPCs and items above rather than the name.

Verifying the quest in your game
Because the stats, locations, and NPC names can change with updates, the guides above are a starting point. The reliable checks are the quest log entry for the current objective, the in-game position of Kael and the pendant, and the rod’s own tooltip after you receive it. The Brother’s Rod is a virtual reward, and nothing in these guides requires real-world fishing gear or equipment outside the game.
