Each appears on a secondary 2026 iOS anticipated-games calendar from Releases.com, and that calendar gives only estimated or year-only timing for most of them. Treat this list as a shortlist of candidates to check, not a ranking.
The five candidates and what is confirmed
Releases.com’s 2026 iOS calendar lists all five titles as iOS games. The calendar is a discovery source, so its entries do not establish availability, publisher-confirmed dates, or game quality. Its numbers are site ranking or interest indicators with no published method, so they should not be read as player counts, sales, or quality scores.

In practice, that means every title needs a fresh check against its publisher’s announcement and its regional App Store page. A title can be released, delayed, or re-dated without the calendar reflecting the change.
Why this is not yet a ranking
A “best” list needs criteria a reader can test. The evidence gathered for this shortlist does not cover game quality, gameplay, monetization, accessibility, or performance on specific devices, so any ordering would be a guess. A defensible ranking would need, for each title:

- A publisher-confirmed release date and the regions where it launches.
- Current availability, meaning whether it is already out, delayed, or still unreleased.
- Genre and play style, described from the official listing or credible reviews.
- Price model, including whether it uses in-app purchases.
- Whether it needs an internet connection to play.
- The minimum iOS version and supported iPhone models.
- Independent review coverage, or a transparent set of editorial criteria applied to each title.
Until those are in place for at least five unreleased titles, the honest headline is a candidate list, and the list may shrink.
2026 iOS releases that may already be out
A 2026 calendar can include games that have already launched by October. SEGA’s fiscal Q3 presentation listed SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS for PS5, PS4, iOS, Android, and PC, with a global launch date of January 22, 2026. It is not one of the five candidates above, but it shows why a title’s presence on a 2026 list does not mean it is still upcoming. Check whether any game you are considering has already launched before you treat it as “coming.”

Other mobile names to check
GameSpot’s broader 2026 release schedule also includes mobile titles, including Star Sailors and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit. Those names are outside the five-title list, but they are worth checking if you are looking for more mobile options. As with any schedule, confirm dates and platforms with the developer or publisher announcement.
iOS version and device checks
Apple Developer announced on September 9, 2026 that App Store submissions were open for the latest operating system releases, including iOS 27. That announcement is platform context: it tells developers they can submit apps built for the new releases, but it does not confirm that any particular candidate supports iOS 27 or a specific iPhone model. Compatibility is set per app, so check the listing itself.

How to verify a candidate before you download
- Open the publisher’s or developer’s official website or press release for the game, and note the stated release date and any region limits.
- Search for the title in the App Store on your iPhone and open its product page.
- In the product page’s Information section, check the minimum iOS version and whether the game is listed for iPhone.
- Check the price and whether the game offers in-app purchases.
- If the title is not yet listed in your region’s App Store, treat its release as unconfirmed for you, even if a calendar shows a 2026 date.
Once a title passes these checks, it can move from the candidate list into a fuller comparison with the others that have also been confirmed.
