The revival was announced by the Flappy Bird Foundation, which said it had acquired rights from Gametech Holdings—not from Nguyen. As of October 8, 2026, Google Play lists the reboot as live, although the Foundation’s website still describes it as “Coming Soon.”
What did Flappy Bird’s creator say?
In a post on September 15, 2024, Nguyen disavowed involvement in the revival and wrote: “I also don’t support crypto.” TechCrunch reproduced the statement as the Foundation announced its plans to bring the game back.
That denial is direct: Nguyen said he had no relationship with the new game and had not sold anything. The Foundation, rather than Nguyen, announced the project and said it acquired rights from Gametech Holdings. TechCrunch’s report does not establish that Nguyen developed, endorsed, or sold the original game to the revival team.
What is known about the revival’s crypto connection?
The crypto discussion arose after a researcher found hidden copy on the Foundation’s website referring to Solana and Web3, according to TechCrunch. The report said it was unclear whether that text described planned features or abandoned plans; the Foundation’s public-relations materials at the time did not mention crypto.

That reporting is not confirmation of a specific token or a crypto feature in the game. Nguyen’s statement makes his own position clear, but the available evidence does not establish what, if any, crypto functionality the revived game includes.
Is the new Flappy Bird available on mobile?
Availability signals differ by source. Google Play lists the reboot as live, identifies Flappy Bird LLC as its developer, and displays a latest update date of December 13, 2025. In contrast, the Flappy Bird Foundation website still says “Coming Soon” and describes releases as upcoming. These are platform-specific signals, not confirmation of universal availability; the evidence here does not establish a current iOS listing.
