Focus Entertainment said on July 16, 2024, that the leaked build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was old and urged people not to play it. The leak was a pre-release build, not the finished commercial game. The exact date it was made—and how far development had progressed at that point—has not been established.
What did Focus Entertainment say about the leak?
In a statement reproduced by ComicBook.com, Focus described the leak as involving “an old build” of the upcoming game. The report says the statement was posted on July 16, 2024, and that Focus discouraged people from playing the leaked version. ComicBook.com’s report attributes the statement to Focus Entertainment; it does not name an individual spokesperson.
How old was the leaked Space Marine 2 build?
The exact build date is not confirmed by the available reporting. Accounts circulating at the time cited conflicting purported dates, so none should be treated as verified. Focus’s description supports saying the build was old, but it does not establish when it was compiled or precisely what stage of development it represented.
Was it the finished game?
