- Audit the squad in your save. Check cover across the roles you plan to use, and confirm that the profile’s listed players and finances match your database and save.
- Set your tactical approach before shopping. Decide which positions and attributes matter in your chosen system so you buy for a defined job rather than name recognition.
- Price the whole commitment. Consider both transfer spending and wages against the figures shown in your own finances; do not treat the profile’s £12m and £100k as guaranteed allowances.
- Use development where it fits. The profile’s “Great” training and youth facilities make internal development relevant, but “Limited” youth recruitment does not support assuming a deep flow of ready-made prospects.
How to approach tactics and training in FM19
Sports Interactive said FM19 introduced a completely overhauled training module and upgraded tactics creator, including new tactical styles and additional team instructions. Its feature announcement also says tactical changes should be more visible in the match engine than in previous games. Those statements explain the developer’s intended FM19 mechanics; they are not guarantees about results in a particular save.
