Fortnite Bug Tracker: Official Known Issues and Server Status

Epic uses separate official destinations for Fortnite outages and known gameplay issues. Here’s where to check status, incident history, and acknowledgment.

To check whether Fortnite is down, use Epic Games Public Status. To see whether Epic has recognized a gameplay bug, check Epic’s Fortnite Live Issues and Bugs guidance and its linked Fortnite community and news channels. A player report alone does not mean Epic has acknowledged the issue.

Where Epic publishes Fortnite status and known issues

Epic separates service interruptions from gameplay bugs. Its Fortnite Live Issues and Bugs support page directs players to different destinations depending on what they need to verify.

Source Best for What to check
Epic Games Public Status Current service availability and outage history Fortnite’s overall status, individual components, incident updates, and scheduled maintenance.
@FortniteStatus Service-status updates on social media Epic’s posts about service interruptions and related updates. Epic lists this account in its support guidance.
Fortnite Fixes, Improvements & Known Issues Communities page Known gameplay issues Epic’s support guidance points players to this community destination for known issues.
Fortnite News Official announcements and issue updates News or update posts relevant to the problem.

For a problem confined to one mode, Epic’s support page also lists mode-specific channels: @FNCompetitive for competitive updates; @FNCreate and the Creative Discord for Creative; and @LEGOFN_Status and @LEGOFortnite for LEGO Fortnite.

How to check whether Fortnite is down right now

  1. Open Epic Games Public Status.
  2. Find Fortnite and inspect both its overall indicator and the component relevant to your problem. The page lists services including login, matchmaking, voice chat, game services, and the item shop.
  3. Open any active incident for Epic’s updates, or review incident history and scheduled maintenance if no incident is active.
  4. Check @FortniteStatus for a social update if you need Epic’s service-status channel as well.

A green overall indicator does not answer every narrower question by itself: inspect the component you rely on. For example, a matchmaking problem and an item-shop problem concern different listed services.

  • If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
  • Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms

How to tell whether Epic has acknowledged a Fortnite bug

Look for the issue on Epic’s known-issues/community destination, Fortnite News, or a relevant mode-specific official channel. A post from a player—or a third-party outage tracker—shows that someone has reported a problem; it does not establish that Epic has recognized it.

The Fortnite Bug Reports community page is Epic’s Bug Reports destination. Its contents may require sign-in, so a report page that does not display issue cards publicly is not evidence that no bugs have been reported or acknowledged.

What incident labels mean

Epic’s Public Status API documentation describes incident states such as Investigating, Identified, Monitoring, Resolved, and Postmortem, along with impact levels. These labels belong to status-page incident records. They should not be read as a universal label for every Fortnite bug report or community post.

The documentation also describes machine-readable endpoints for the overall summary and status, components, unresolved and recent incidents, and scheduled maintenance. Its JSON examples illustrate the API format; they are not necessarily live Fortnite conditions. For a current answer, consult the live status page or the documented live endpoint rather than treating an example response as current data.

Fortnite Physical Gift Card
  • An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
  • If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
  • The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
  • Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
