Players had to purchase the Kratos Outfit and then play a match on PlayStation 5. Epic announced the promotion on December 3, 2020; that announcement does not establish that the Outfit or style is currently available.
How did PS5 players unlock Armored Kratos?
- Purchase the Kratos Outfit in Fortnite’s Item Shop. Epic said it was available there when the promotion was announced on December 3, 2020; that dated statement does not confirm present-day availability. Epic’s Chapter 2 Season 5 announcement stated: “When you play a match on your PlayStation 5 after purchasing the Kratos Outfit, you’ll unlock the Armored Kratos Style — a celebration of his PlayStation legacy.”
- After purchasing the Outfit, play a Fortnite match on a PS5. That match unlocked the Armored Kratos Style.
The distinction matters: the PS5 match was the condition for unlocking the alternate style, while buying the Outfit was also required. The promotion was not a general offer of a free Kratos skin to PS5 users.
Can you still get the Kratos Outfit or Armored Style?
Current availability of this specific cosmetic is not established by Epic’s announcement or its general support guidance. Epic says past season passes cannot be purchased, and that some Pass items from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward might later appear in the Item Shop. That guidance does not say that the Kratos Outfit or Armored Kratos Style has returned. See Epic’s guidance on previous Fortnite passes.
How this differs from current PlayStation Plus packs
PlayStation lists Fortnite cosmetic packs for PlayStation Plus members. The current listing describes a cosmetic pack that requires membership and an internet connection to download, and notes that pack contents occasionally refresh; previous items may or may not return. Those packs are a separate, changing offer and are not documented as a way to obtain the Chapter 2 Season 5 Kratos promotion. Check PlayStation’s Fortnite page for the current listing and eligibility.
