The official Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked trailer introduces a sandstorm-scarred Island, a new wasteland biome and vehicle-focused combat powered by Nitro. The season launched in 2024 and has ended; Epic’s updated end time for the season and Battle Pass was August 15, 2024, at 11 PM ET.
What the Wrecked trailer shows
Epic’s verified trailer listing, dated May 23, 2024, sets up the season with a sandstorm that leaves wreckage across the Island and brings in a “savage band of Wasteland Warriors.” The promotional framing is a shift toward a wasteland setting and vehicular combat: Epic invited players to “get in the driver’s seat” and “bring the Nitro” against the season’s vehicular villains. Epic’s season announcement followed on May 24, 2024.
What changed in Chapter 5 Season 3
A new wasteland biome
Epic described the wasteland as a new southern biome formed after the sandstorm. Its antagonists were the Wasteland Warriors, establishing the season’s central conflict and visual setting.
Vehicles and Nitro at the center
Wrecked’s launch pitch put vehicles and Nitro at the heart of the action. The announcement’s tournament-eligibility list named vehicle-related items such as Bulletproof Tires, Chonkers Off-Road Tires, Cow Catchers, vehicle turrets, Repair Boxes, Repair Torches, Spiked Bumpers, Vehicle Mod Boxes and War Busses, alongside Shockwave Grenades and Service Stations. This is a list of items excluded from tournaments, not a complete explanation of how each item worked in ordinary matches or a claim that all were introduced in this season.

Redline Rig and the season’s characters
One named location was Redline Rig, a Nitro refinery run by The Machinist. Epic’s announcement also listed these Battle Pass outfits: The Machinist, Rust, Peabody, Ringmaster Scarr, T-60 Power Armor, Brite Raider and Megalo Don.
What the Wrecked Battle Pass offered
Epic listed the Battle Pass at 950 V-Bucks, with the opportunity to earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks by leveling it. Those were the published terms for the 2024 Wrecked pass, not an indication that it remains available. Epic’s updated announcement set the season and pass end time at August 15, 2024, at 11 PM ET.
