Fortnite’s official Absolute Doom trailer introduced Chapter 5 Season 4 as a Marvel crossover built around Doctor Doom’s arrival on the Battle Royale island. Released August 10, 2024, it previewed a season of Marvel characters, Doom-themed locations and superhero-inspired gear. Epic published the detailed season announcement on August 16, 2024.
What is Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4: Absolute Doom?
Absolute Doom was the full name of Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 4. The official trailer’s description invited players to “become a Marvel legend,” framing the season around Marvel characters and action rather than presenting it as a standalone film or separate game.
Epic’s August 16, 2024 announcement explained the story setup: Doctor Doom used the power of Pandora’s Box to bring his Latvarian domain to the island and establish a foothold with his loyal henchmen. That premise gave the season its central conflict and connected the new locations, characters and equipment to Doom’s invasion.
What did the trailer reveal about the season?
Doctor Doom and the Marvel lineup
Doctor Doom was the season’s central figure, with Gwenpool, War Machine, Shuri and other Marvel-linked characters among the lineup Epic announced. The roster brought distinct Marvel identities into the Battle Royale season, while Doom’s presence supplied its overarching visual and story theme.

Locations shaped by Doom’s arrival
Epic highlighted Castle Doom, Doomstadt and The Raft as named locations. Castle Doom and Doomstadt tied the island’s new setting directly to Doom, while The Raft added a recognizable Marvel prison location to the map.
Superhero-inspired gear and weapons
The announcement called out Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, Captain America’s Shield and War Machine’s gear as gameplay highlights. Epic also described new or returning weapons, but the trailer materials do not establish a complete item list or detailed balance information.

What were the Battle Pass terms?
Epic announced the Absolute Doom Battle Pass at 950 V-Bucks, with up to 1,500 V-Bucks available back through progression. Those were the published terms for the 2024 pass, not a current offer: Epic’s stated progression deadline was November 2, 2024, at 2 AM ET.
