For the launch-day map, esports.gg listed 12 friendly characters; a September 5 guide from Dot Esports later added Gwenpool and Shuri, but its stated total does not match the number of friendly characters it names. Below are the dated location snapshots, followed by the three separate boss encounters.
Where are the friendly NPCs at launch?
The following is the August 16, 2024 launch-day snapshot published by esports.gg. Landmark names are useful for finding each character; services and Gold prices are the reported launch inventory, not a guarantee of what was available later in the season.

Which NPCs were added or listed later?
A September 5, 2024 Dot Esports guide adds two friendly characters to the location picture:
- Gwenpool: at the edge of Reckless Railways, across the bridge to the west. The guide lists Patch Up, Shockwave Grenades, and Dual Micro SMGs.
- Shuri: east of Nitrodome, beneath a large tree. The guide lists Rift To Go, Flowberry, and bandages.
That guide also describes several launch locations with more precise or alternate landmarks: Artemis is north of Grim Gate and east of the Underworld; Brite Raider is between Brutal Beachhead and Redline Rig; Captain Jonesy is west of Nitrodome; Centurion is at the north tip, east of Rebel’s Roost and north of Doomstadt; Heroic Hope is in Sandy Steppes; Nisha is north of Sandy Steppes by the train station; Peabody is at Pea Bois HQ; Peelverine is at Restored Reels; Ruckus is south of the island, west of Brite Raider; Rust is southwest of The Raft and northwest of Sandy Steppes; Triage Trooper is southwest of Grand Glacier and southeast of Reckless Railways; and War Machine is south of Doom’s Courtyard, west of Castle Doom and east of Doomstadt.

Where can I find the bosses?
Bosses are combat encounters, not ordinary friendly service NPCs. Twinfinite’s August 16 guide lists three, and Epic’s season announcement independently confirms Mysterio and Emma Frost’s locations and Medallions.

How to use the locations without overreading the counts
- Plan by area: several friendly characters are grouped around Sandy Steppes, the southern Wasteland, and the north around Doomstadt and Castle Doom. Use the named POIs as waypoints rather than treating a character as being inside the POI itself.
- Choose services for your route: launch-day listings include hired specialists, healing and mobility options, and weapons. The sources list services and some Gold costs, but do not establish a universally best NPC or compare travel time and strategic value.
- Read counts as dated guide counts: esports.gg counted 12 friendly NPCs on launch day. Dot Esports later says 14 total, yet its detailed friendly-character list names 13 and does not reconcile that number with the bosses. The sources therefore do not establish one definitive season-wide total.
