Its defining changes were three new locations, a shared Hero Rank progression system, rank-scaled Boons and Hero Items, and Medallions that traded powerful effects for increased visibility to opponents. This is a retrospective guide: the season and its Battle Pass progression period have ended.
What was Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super?
Epic Games framed the season around Mask Maker Daigo siphoning energy beneath the island while a new generation of heroes trained at Supernova Academy. The season overview described it as “a superhero crash course” for Battle Royale. The season ran June 7–August 7, 2025, according to Epic’s season overview and its updated season information.

Which locations were new?
The island added three named points of interest, each with a different role in the season’s story and gameplay, as described in Epic’s location overview.
- Supernova Academy: A hero-training hub, with Academy Tech Labs offering rank-gated rooms and goods purchasable with Bars.
- Utopia City: A polished urban area with office parks and loot.
- Demon’s Domain: Daigo’s stronghold, where players could challenge him.
How did Hero Rank work?
Hero Rank was a match-based progression system shared by party members. Every match began at C rank; players could advance through B, A, S, and S+. Rank increased through actions including eliminations, surviving Storm phases, taking a Sprite to a Shrine, and eliminating henchmen. Epic’s Hero Rank explanation says each rank-up awarded 100 Effective Health and unlocked a Hero Cache. Cache rewards increased in rarity and could include weapons, consumables, Boons, and Hero Items. Reaching S+ granted any missing Boons instead of another cache.

Which Hero Items and weapons stood out?
Hero Items supplied much of the season’s combat identity. They could be found in Hero Caches and elsewhere around the island; Academy Tech Labs offered another acquisition route, with access tied to rank. Epic’s item overview described these notable abilities:
- Myst Gauntlets: Fired a cone of shadow energy.
- Killswitch Revolvers: Dual pistols with a dodge and an airborne Hangtime firing mechanic.
- Tracking Visor: Scanned the battlefield, pinged nearby opponents, and displayed footprints.
- Bass Boost: Damaged opponents and structures, bounced targets, and could launch its user.
- Robin’s Grapnel Gun: Provided long-distance movement.
Epic’s launch article also listed the Spire Rifle, a large-magazine LMG with increased structure damage, as well as the Hyperburst Pistol and Deadeye DMR. Three Unstable Exotics—the Unstable Yoink Shotgun, Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol, and Unstable Frostfire Shotgun—were listed as available exclusively from Rank S Hero Caches and Academy Tech Labs.

Surf Cube, Storm Beast’s Pom Poms, and Myst Form were described as “coming later this Season” in the launch announcement. That was a historical announcement, not confirmation of their present availability.
What did the Boons do?
Four Boons were named: Storm Caller, Speed Healer, Combat Acrobat, and Heightened Senses. Epic said Boon effects scaled with Hero Rank. Its Boon overview does not provide a tested ranking or comparative performance results, so these are best understood as distinct utility choices rather than a verified tier list. Epic also said Storm Caller would not be included in tournaments and that it would monitor feedback and adjust tournament loot pools if needed.

How did Sprites change?
Dash Sprite and Superman Sprite replaced Air and Water Sprites on the map. Epic described Dash Sprite as granting Dash charges over time to players within its area, while Superman Sprite used a forward laser beam. Nintendo’s official season feature also notes the Sprite replacement.
Where were the bosses, and what did they drop?
Epic’s boss and Medallion details identified two boss encounters:

- Daigo — Demon’s Domain: Defeating him awarded the Mythic Enhanced Spire Rifle and Infernal Defenses Medallion. The Medallion increased reload speed and regenerated Shield up to 50.
- Kor — the location where Shogun X previously stood: Defeating Kor awarded the Mythic Kor’s Deadeye DMR and Shrouded Striker Medallion. It enabled invisibility during sprint jumps and made those jumps farther, faster, and higher.
What was the downside of carrying a Medallion?
Medallions revealed their carrier on opponents’ minimaps. The more Medallions a player carried, the more precise the location radius became. Their benefits therefore came with a scouting risk: a powerful effect could also help nearby opponents track the carrier.
What was in the Super Battle Pass?
Epic’s Battle Pass announcement said XP earned in any Fortnite experience counted toward its free and premium rewards. At launch, the premium Pass cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was available through Fortnite Crew. Premium Outfit names included Robin, Haylee Skye, Ziggy, Synthwave, Killswitch, Lightrider, and Morgan Myst; Superman unlocks were tied to Battle Pass progression and quests. These are historical season details, not current offers: Pass progression ended August 7, 2025, Eastern Time, after Epic’s June 26 update changed the deadline.

Epic’s article also mentioned a Wishing Star Emote reward for logging in on Nintendo Switch 2 by March 31, 2026. That deadline has passed, so it should not be treated as a claimable offer.
