What changed on the Chapter 6 Season 4 map?
Epic introduced three new Battle Royale POIs and marked them in orange on the season map image in its August 6, 2025 season announcement. The image is the official reference for their locations; the descriptions below explain what Epic emphasized about each landing spot.
Shock ‘N Awesome began August 7 and ended November 1, 2025, Eastern Time. Its POIs and map details apply to that season.
What are the new POIs?
The Hive
The Hive is the season’s swarm-focused, high-risk location. Epic warns that players should expect to encounter the insect swarm and advises bringing a proper stock of ammunition. It is the clearest choice of the three for players prepared to fight through an expected hostile encounter.

O.X.R. HQ
O.X.R. HQ serves as the troops’ barracks and operations hub. The main building houses commanders at the battle operations hub, and the O.X.R. Armory sells weapons and other items in exchange for Bars. Of the three new POIs, this is the one Epic explicitly associates with a service and a way to spend that in-game currency.
Ranger’s Ruin
Ranger’s Ruin was formerly an O.X.R. weapons lab, but the infestation has overtaken it. Epic describes the location as rich in quality loot, while its infested setting signals danger. The announcement does not provide drop rates or a measured comparison of its loot against other POIs.
Which POI should you choose?
Epic’s descriptions point to different landing priorities, but they are not independent measurements of loot, survival, or win rates.

Choose The Hive if you are ready for the expected swarm fight, O.X.R. HQ if access to its armory matters to your plan, or Ranger’s Ruin if you want the loot-focused option and accept the danger signaled by the infestation.
Are these locations on Fortnite’s current map?
No. These are the changes Epic announced for Chapter 6 Season 4 in 2025. The season ended November 1, 2025, Eastern Time, so the three POIs should not be presented as current-map locations.
