Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, titled Shock ‘N Awesome, ran from August 7 to November 1, 2025 (Eastern Time). It was an insect-invasion season built around the O.X.R. defense force—not the superhero season suggested by early rumors. Epic’s official announcement laid out the season’s dates, enemies, locations, weapons, Battle Pass, and crossovers.
When did Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 start and end?
Epic announced on August 6, 2025: “Chapter 6 Season 4 starts August 7.” The season ended November 1, 2025, Eastern Time. Its Shock ‘N Awesome Battle Pass progression window ran over the same dates, so it is no longer an active pass or offer.
What was Chapter 6 Season 4 about?
Epic framed Shock ‘N Awesome as a fight against an insect infestation. The island’s defense force was the O.X.R., and the season introduced three named locations: The Hive, O.X.R. HQ, and Ranger’s Ruin.
Bug enemies and Queen encounters
The new enemies included Swarmers, Bombers, and Queens. Queen encounters were tied to Mythic weapons and Medallions, giving players a reason to take on the larger threat rather than just avoid the infestation.

What did the pre-release leaks get right—and wrong?
Pre-release reporting changed as launch approached. On May 8, 2025, Insider Gaming summarized rumors of a superhero-themed season, including alleged Superman content, a Fortress of Solitude location, and possible Robin- and Storm-themed Battle Pass skins. The outlet cautioned readers to treat the claims skeptically. Those reports were not official confirmation.
By August 5, GameSpot was describing an insect-invasion theme and Halo and Power Rangers crossover content based on teases and reporting. Epic’s August 6 announcement confirmed the bug-war framing, O.X.R., Green Ranger, and UNSC Spartan. The early superhero prediction was therefore wrong about the season’s central theme and the actual Battle Pass roster; that does not establish that every individual rumor was disproven.
