The free route to the CouRage Fortnite cosmetics was competing in the Courage Icon Cup and placing high enough on your region’s leaderboard. That Duos Battle Royale tournament ran December 13–14, 2025, and is over. Epic has not confirmed the bundle’s current shop availability or a new free claim route in the sources cited here, so check the in-game Item Shop and Epic’s official channels for current offers.
How the free unlock worked
Epic’s event page described the Courage Icon Cup as a chance to earn the Courage Bundle before it reached the shop. It was not a reward for merely entering, playing a match, or enabling multifactor authentication (MFA): players needed to finish within the prize cutoff for their region. The cup used Duos in Battle Royale, with sessions lasting about three hours and allowing up to ten matches. Players earned points under the in-game scoring system, and prizes went to the highest-ranked eligible players on each regional leaderboard. Epic’s event page and the official rules dated November 25, 2025 describe the event.

Which rank earned each reward?
The placement cutoffs varied by region and item. These are historical tournament thresholds, not estimates of your odds or guarantees about what is available now.
| Region | CouRage outfit and companion cosmetics | Courageous Knight outfit |
|---|---|---|
| OCE | Top 40 | Top 120 |
| Asia | Top 40 | Top 120 |
| Middle East | Top 40 | Top 120 |
| Europe | Top 370 | Top 1,100 |
| Brazil | Top 60 | Top 190 |
| North America Central (NAC) | Top 140 | Top 410 |
| North America West (NAW) | Top 60 | Top 190 |
The rules also listed a 100 Thieves emoticon for reaching 8 points. Check the official rules for the exact prize description and region terminology; a rank in one region does not apply to another. The Courageous Knight had a separate, wider placement cutoff, so not every cosmetic used the same threshold.

Cosmetics listed for the cup
The listed bundle cosmetics were the CouRage outfit, CouRage’s Takeover wrap, Courage Axe and Courageous Scepter pickaxes, Lion Shield and Courage Shield back blings, Ultimate W and Gamer’s Victory emotes, and the Louis companion. The rules distinguish the Courageous Knight outfit’s cutoff from the CouRage outfit and companion cosmetics.
What the rules required
Participants had to meet Epic’s age requirement—at least 13 or the higher minimum age applicable in their country—and have MFA enabled. Players also had to be eligible and ranked under the rules. Residents of Turkey and Russia were excluded from prizes. Minors needed permission from a parent or guardian and acceptance of the rules. Cheating and other unfair play were prohibited. MFA was an eligibility condition, not a way to claim the cosmetics by itself.

How scoring and ties worked
Epic used the in-game scoring system. If players tied, the rules broke the tie in this order:
- Total points
- Victory Royales
- Average eliminations
- Average placement
- Total survival time
A match counted only if it began before that session closed. The official rules say the game client recorded and reported a player’s score at the end of their participation in a match.

Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Can you get the bundle for free now?
Not through this cup: its final session was December 13, 2025, and it has passed. The official materials cited here do not establish whether the Courage Bundle is currently in the Item Shop, what it would cost, or whether another free route exists. Check the in-game shop and Epic’s official channels for current availability. Epic says genuine offers appear on its official websites, social channels, or the Epic Games Store; it also warns that Player Support cannot grant missed items on request. See Epic’s guidance on free Fortnite items before trusting an outside claim of a free bundle.
