Fortnite Crew may offer better value if you also want that month’s Crew Pack and premium access to included passes. Compare the Crew price shown for your platform and region with the V-Bucks you would otherwise buy—and count only benefits you would actually use.

Epic announced on March 10, 2026 that changes would begin March 19, saying, “The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.” The announced Crew currency grant changed from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks per month. The announcement also set the Battle Pass price at 800 V-Bucks and its completion award at 800 V-Bucks. See Epic’s announcement for the change and US pack examples.
How to decide which is better value for you
- Start with what you plan to buy. Work out how many V-Bucks the purchase requires, then check the pack prices available in your region and on your platform.
- Check the local Crew charge. Epic’s Crew listing describes benefits, but does not establish one current subscription price that applies globally. Use the amount shown for your own platform and region; do not assume an old or foreign price applies.
- Value only the extras you want. Ask whether you would choose this month’s Crew Pack and use premium rewards in any of the included passes. Do not count a pass or cosmetic as savings just because it is included if you would not otherwise want it.
- Account for the billing pattern. V-Bucks are a one-time purchase; Crew renews monthly until canceled. If you only want one month, check the cancellation terms and timing before subscribing.
- Check where the currency can be spent. Epic warns that V-Bucks received through Crew may not be redeemable on other platforms. Confirm account and platform compatibility before choosing Crew.
A useful comparison is the Crew charge against the local cost of buying the currency you need, plus only the value you personally assign to Crew’s pack and pass access. If you would use none of those extras, a currency pack is the more direct purchase. If you would use several, Crew may suit your spending better—but the result depends on your local price and choices, not a universal savings figure.
How the Battle Pass reward affects the comparison
From March 19, 2026, the Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and awards 800 V-Bucks when completed. A player who completes it can earn enough from that pass to cover a subsequent Battle Pass at the same price. That is separate from Crew’s monthly 800-V-Bucks grant; it is not an additional Crew benefit. Epic’s announcement gives the revised price and completion award.

If you already own a pass, do not assume a Crew subscription will reimburse its price or provide a cash-equivalent credit. Epic’s current cited Crew information establishes premium access while subscribed, not a general pass reimbursement. Check the pass terms that apply to your account before subscribing on the assumption that you will receive a refund.

Fortnite V-Bucks cards are another way to obtain currency. Epic says they are sold at select retailers, and platform rules can restrict where redeemed V-Bucks are usable. Before buying a card, verify that its region and redemption terms match your account and intended platform. Epic’s V-Bucks card page and redemption instructions provide the official details.

- Use the price displayed for your own region and platform. Epic’s March 2026 US pack prices are examples, not a global price list.
- Confirm the current Crew charge at checkout; a historical price is not proof of today’s local price.
