Epic described the non-lightsaber weapons as “blasters-only on day one.” That launch-day snapshot did not describe the full season: Epic announced additional weapons for May 15 and May 22, 2025.
Which weapons were available when Galactic Battle launched?
GALACTIC BATTLE launched on May 2, 2025. Epic’s May 1 announcement listed 10 blasters for day one, warned that they could overheat if players held the trigger, and separately listed the Thermal Imploder as an explosive. The announcement’s wording was specific: “As far as non-lightsaber weapons go, it’s blasters-only on day one!” Epic’s season announcement.

Epic said the Thermal Imploder’s compression vacuum ignited after it was thrown, dealing damage and damaging nearby structures. That makes “Thermal Detonators” an inaccurate name for the item Epic listed in its launch announcement.
How did players get a lightsaber?
Lightsabers were weapons too, but Epic described ways to obtain them through character interactions or from another player rather than presenting them as ordinary launch-day ground loot. Players could train with hologram Rey or Emperor Palpatine to earn a lightsaber, defeat Darth Vader Samurai for a different one, or pick one up from another player. Those interactions could provide abilities including Force Push, Force Lightning, and Force Saber Throw. A lightsaber looted from another player did not give its new holder a Force Ability.

What weapons were added later in the season?
Epic’s May 1 announcement also set out two later additions. These dates are part of the announced 2025 schedule, not a claim about what is available in Fortnite now.

So “only blasters, Thermal Detonators, and lightsabers” is not a precise summary of the entire season. The launch lineup included blasters, lightsabers, and the Thermal Imploder; the announced seasonal pool expanded later.

Is Galactic Battle’s weapon pool current?
No. GALACTIC BATTLE was a 2025 Battle Royale season, and Epic said its Star Wars Battle Pass progression period ran from May 2 through June 7, 2025 Eastern Time. The season should not be described as live in October 2026.
Fortnite has had later Star Wars content, but it belongs to other experiences. For example, Epic’s v41.00 Blitz Update Notes list blasters and lightsabers in Blitz; that is a different mode, not evidence that Galactic Battle’s 2025 Battle Royale season returned. Epic’s April 30, 2026 announcement about new Star Wars games and creator islands likewise describes separate Fortnite experiences.
