Fortnite is already available on Apple’s App Store in most regions. Epic Games announced its return on May 19, 2026, while noting it had not returned to the Australia App Store. Epic’s current installation guidance still lists Australia as the exception.
Is Fortnite back on iPhone and iPad?
Yes. Epic announced on May 19, 2026, that Fortnite had returned to the App Store worldwide, with one stated exception: “We’ve not returned to the Australia App Store yet.” Epic’s current support page says the App Store download is available worldwide except Australia.

For the standard iPhone or iPad installation, open the App Store, search for Fortnite, and check the listing for your device and region. Availability can change, so the listing in your storefront is the practical check.
How to play Fortnite on iOS
Download it from the App Store
In regions where the App Store listing is available, download Fortnite directly from Apple’s App Store. Epic’s support instructions describe this route as worldwide except Australia: Epic’s mobile installation instructions.

Use an alternative iOS store where available
Epic’s regional guidance for its Epic Games Store on iOS is inconsistent across its own pages. The installation support page names the EU, Japan, and Australia; a separate iOS guide names the EU, Brazil, and Japan, specifying iPhone-only availability in Brazil and Japan. These lists should not be treated as one definitive regional list, and Australia’s appearance on an alternative-store list does not mean Fortnite is back on the Australia App Store. Check Epic’s live installation instructions for the current route in your country.

Stream it through cloud gaming
If you do not want to install Fortnite, Epic points iPhone and iPad users to Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna in regions where cloud streaming is supported. This plays the game as a stream rather than installing the Fortnite app; check the cloud service’s own country, account, and device requirements before relying on it. Epic describes this option in its mobile installation instructions and iOS guide.

Epic says Fortnite has not returned to the Australia App Store. Its installation support page separately names Australia among regions for its Epic Games Store route, while its iOS guide gives a different list that does not include Australia. Because those Epic pages conflict, check the live instructions for your location rather than assuming one alternative-store list applies. Cloud gaming is another possible route where the named service is supported.
