Its announcement also introduced OG 50v50, detailed which items were available at launch versus planned for later, and outlined a 45-tier OG Pass. This is the 2025 OG replay season—not the original Chapter 1 Season 3 or another Fortnite season called Season 3.
When did Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 3 start?
Epic announced the season on March 25, 2025, and said it started that day. The official announcement, “Fortnite OG Makes a (Lucky) Landing into Season 3!”, is the primary source for its launch content.

The reviewed official announcements do not give an exact end date for OG Chapter 1 Season 3. Epic’s June 7, 2025 announcement of Season 4 documents the following seasonal changeover, but its dates refer to Season 4, not Season 3. Season 4 was initially scheduled to end August 8, 2025 Eastern Time; a June 27 update changed that to August 7. Epic Support cautions that season end dates can change and points players to the in-game Battle Pass tab or official channels for current information: How long does a Fortnite season last?
What changed on the map?
Lucky Landing returned
Epic brought back Lucky Landing, describing it as a small town with ornate architecture, cherry blossoms, abundant loot, and close-quarters streets. Those are Epic’s descriptions in its season announcement, rather than an independent assessment of the location.

The meteor developed over the season
The meteor was presented as a progression in the sky: Epic said it would appear and draw closer as the season advanced. It was not described as a finished, fixed map feature at launch.
What was in the Season 3 loot pool?
Epic separated the items that were live at launch from those players could expect later. That distinction matters: the following later additions were not all announced as launch-day items.

The official changeover details are in “Fortnite OG Season 4 is Here!”. The two lists describe different transitions: what Season 3 inherited from Season 2, and what Season 4 inherited from Season 3.

What was OG 50v50, and when did it end?
OG 50v50 was a limited-time mode pitting two teams of 50 against each other. Epic’s March 25 announcement said it would be available until April 14, 2025, at 9 AM ET. Epic also described 50v50 as Fortnite Battle Royale’s first limited-time mode, added in 2017. The cutoff is the announced availability deadline, not a statement about the mode’s availability in the game today.
What was in the 45-tier OG Pass?
Epic announced a 45-tier pass inspired by classic Chapter 1 Season 3. Its three premium outfits were Power Punk, Mecha R3X, and Sir Raven. Accessories included the Rebel Pickaxe, Horizon Rider Glider, and Fowl Mantle Back Bling; alternate styles could be unlocked through XP progression. The season announcement gave the premium pass price as 1,000 V-Bucks or access through Fortnite Crew. These are historical terms announced for the 2025 season, not a guarantee of current price or availability.

How pass progression and premium access worked
Epic Support says XP from any Fortnite experience advances all active passes simultaneously. Each pass requires a separate purchase to unlock its premium rewards, while Fortnite Crew includes active passes each season. See How does Fortnite Crew work? when checking current terms. The season announcement’s two access routes were a direct V-Bucks purchase or Crew inclusion; whether Crew makes sense depends on the other active pass benefits you want, not just this historical pass price.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you play OG Season 3 now?
Fortnite’s current OG store page describes OG as back to stay, with the Chapter 1 map and rotating OG seasons. It says seasons run approximately two months and lists Solos or Squads, Battle Royale building, Zero Build, and controller support. Because this is a live product page and available modes can change, check the in-game menu for what is playable now: Fortnite OG on the Epic Games Store. The page’s rotating-season description does not establish that Season 3 itself is currently active or replayable.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
