What are Kicks in Fortnite?
Kicks are a cosmetic footwear type that players equip through Fortnite’s Locker and pair with compatible Outfits. Epic Games described the feature as footwear for Outfits, with launch designs from Nike, Jordan Brand, and Fortnite itself. Compatibility is not universal, so a particular pair may not work with every Outfit. Epic’s launch announcement introduced the feature on November 20, 2024.
When did Nike and Jordan Kicks arrive?
Epic announced Kicks on November 20, 2024, with the first releases scheduled to begin November 21. Nike separately confirmed that Nike and Jordan Brand were launch partners and that the first footwear would arrive in Fortnite on November 21. The Jordan drop was listed for November 22–26, 2024; these were launch windows, not continuing availability dates. Nike’s announcement confirmed the partnership, while Nike’s SNKRS page documents the original in-game drops.
Which shoes were in the first drops?
The launch lineup included real Nike and Jordan models alongside Fortnite-original footwear. Named Nike designs included the Cortez Leather OG, Air Foamposite One “Galaxy,” and Shox R4 “Comet Red.” Epic also identified the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Black Toe Reimagined” as the first pair available to Remix Pass owners once version 32.11 went live, and listed multiple Air Jordans among the first drops.

Do Kicks affect gameplay?
No. Epic Games Support says, “Kicks are purely cosmetic and provide no competitive advantage.” They are not available in all game modes. For current mode support or outfit compatibility, consult Epic’s Kicks support page.
Are they physical Nike or Jordan shoes?
No. Kicks are Fortnite cosmetics, not physical footwear. The Nike and Jordan names identify the in-game designs; the official announcements do not say that buying a real-world pair unlocks its Fortnite counterpart. Anyone looking for physical sneakers should treat that as a separate purchase.

- Open Fortnite and go to the current Item Shop.
- Look for the Kicks section or the specific design you want; rotations and prices can change.
- Check whether the pair works with your chosen Outfit, and remember that Kicks may not be supported in every mode.
