Brutus’ Minigun was the divisive Mythic weapon in the story. The claim was attributed to Fortnite leaker HYPEX, not announced by Epic, and the report gave no return date.
What the Fortnite leak claimed
Dexerto’s March 1, 2025 report reproduced a post from Fortnite leaker HYPEX: “Midas’ Drum Gun & Brutus’ Minigun will return this season and will be sold at the Black Market for Dill Bits ‼️” The post described both weapons as returning during Chapter 6 Season 2, with the same reported way to obtain them: buy them at Black Market shops using Dill Bits. Dexerto’s report characterized the Minigun’s return as divisive; it did not provide weapon statistics or a verified balance comparison.
Which weapon was called divisive?
It was Brutus’ Minigun. The report linked the reaction to reader comments and earlier complaints about Fortnite’s Eminem-themed RG Minigun. That is anecdotal evidence of some players’ objections, not proof of a consensus or a measured finding that either weapon is overpowered.
Epic’s Weapons Primer says, “A Mythic weapon is the most rare and damaging of weapons,” and that Mythic weapons have six stars. That is a general description of the rarity; it does not independently establish Brutus’ Minigun’s current in-game status or performance.

How were players reportedly supposed to get them?
According to the leak, both weapons would be sold at Black Market shops for Dill Bits. The March 1 report did not establish shop locations, prices, availability windows, or any alternative method of obtaining either weapon. Treat the shop and currency details as part of the leak, not confirmed instructions for the game.
Was a return date confirmed?
No. Dexerto said the exact date was unknown when it published the report. Its suggestion that the weapons might arrive soon was an expectation based on Chapter 6 Season 2 ending in early May, not a confirmed schedule.

Epic defines vaulted items as weapons or other items that were released and later made unavailable. Its documentation gives general reasons an item might be vaulted, but does not establish why Brutus’ Minigun was unavailable. Epic’s Fortnite weapons documentation explains the term; it does not verify this particular leak.

The sources available for this article do not verify whether the reported return happened. An official Epic announcement about Chapter 7 Season 4 does not confirm the outcome of this Chapter 6 Season 2 claim. Until there is a direct confirmation, the reported season, shop sale, and Dill Bits payment method should remain attributed to HYPEX’s leak.
