Fortnite OG’s recreation of Chapter 1 Season 7 ran from December 11, 2025, to March 31, 2026, according to TechRadar. It brought back a frozen island, three returning locations and the X-4 Stormwing, alongside a distinct set of vault changes. These are dates and content for the later OG season—not the original Chapter 1 Season 7 from 2018.
When did Fortnite OG Season 7 come out?
The OG recreation of Chapter 1 Season 7 launched on December 11, 2025, and ended on March 31, 2026, when Season 8 began, as reported by TechRadar. Those dates belong to the later Fortnite OG season; they are not the dates of the original 2018 season.
Fortnite OG as a standalone experience had a separate release date: December 6, 2024, according to its Epic Games Store listing. The listing describes OG seasons as running approximately two months, but that general cadence does not replace the specific Season 7 dates.
What changed in Fortnite OG Season 7?
A frozen island and returning locations
The Ice King froze the island again. Epic’s Fortnite Communities announcement names Polar Peak, Frosty Flights and Happy Hamlet as returning locations. Epic also noted terrain and foliage adjustments intended to better match the original locations.

The X-4 Stormwing returns
The X-4 Stormwing plane returned with a mounted machine gun for aerial combat. The gun overheats if fired for too long, so sustained fire is limited.
Movement updates in Build and Zero Build
Ascenders and ziplines were added or updated in both OG Build and Zero Build. Epic described these as movement changes alongside the map and item updates.

Which items were unvaulted, vaulted or available at launch?
Epic’s announcement separates the launch-period loot changes into different categories. Keeping those categories distinct matters: “available at launch” is not the same as being listed among the unvaulted items.
| Category | Items |
|---|---|
| Unvaulted | Dual Pistols, Balloon, Stink Bomb and Scoped Assault Rifle |
| Vaulted | Clinger, Port-A-Fort, Chiller Grenade, Burst Assault Rifle and Six Shooter |
| Available with the season launch | Suppressed Sniper Rifle and Scoped Revolver |
This is Epic’s stated launch-period list. TechRadar’s broader season overview also mentions Boom Box, Glider Redeploy and the Infinity Blade; the Infinity Blade was a midseason addition, not a day-one item. The broader list should not be read as a replacement for Epic’s categorized launch-period vault changes.

Was there a Fortnite OG Season 7 Pass?
Epic’s store listing says each OG season has an OG Pass available for V-Bucks or through Fortnite Crew. It describes Fortnite OG itself as free to play. The available sources do not establish the Season 7 Pass’s exact price or full reward list, so a price or reward lineup should not be inferred from details for a different Fortnite event.

The OG season recreated the Chapter 1 Season 7 setting and selected content in a later Fortnite experience; it was not the original 2018 season replayed with every detail unchanged. Epic’s announcement confirms the returning locations, Stormwing and specific item changes, but the available information does not provide a complete item-by-item equivalence audit against the original.
