The original Fortnite Deadpool Outfit was not free or available to everyone: Epic made it exclusive to the Chapter 2, Season 2 Battle Pass in 2020. Battle Pass owners unlocked it through the Week 7 challenge by finding Deadpool’s two Akimbo Pistols and bringing them to him. Epic said earlier Deadpool challenges were not required.
What “available for all” meant
Epic announced the Outfit on April 3, 2020, describing it as “available now exclusively as part of the Chapter 2 – Season 2 Battle Pass!” The challenge was open to Battle Pass owners; “available for all” did not mean the Outfit was a free, permanent, or unrestricted Item Shop item. Marvel’s announcement that day also described the Battle Pass restriction.
In the original announcement, Epic’s Fortnite post said players could unlock the Outfit even if they had not completed any of Deadpool’s previous challenges. Marvel’s contemporaneous article corroborated the Battle Pass requirement and pistol task.
How the 2020 Deadpool Outfit was unlocked
- Own the Chapter 2, Season 2 Battle Pass.
- Complete the Week 7 Deadpool challenge: find Deadpool’s two Akimbo Pistols and bring them to him.
Those are historical instructions for that season, not current gameplay guidance. The Outfit’s original unlock was tied to the Chapter 2, Season 2 Battle Pass.

Can you get a Deadpool cosmetic in Fortnite now?
The 2020 announcement does not establish whether the original Outfit—or any separately released Deadpool cosmetic—is currently available for purchase. Epic’s public Item Shop page is a changing listing and directs players to check the in-game shop for the complete view. A current Deadpool-specific listing status is therefore not established here. Do not assume that another Deadpool cosmetic, if listed, is the same item as the original Battle Pass Outfit.
