Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 3 launched on March 25, 2025, bringing back Lucky Landing and the OG 50v50 limited-time mode. On the same day, Epic opened The Walking Dead Universe assets for creators building islands in Fortnite Creative and UEFN. The two launches served different audiences: one added Battle Royale content for players; the other supplied tools and licensed assets for island makers.
What Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 3 added
Epic’s March 25, 2025 launch announcement brought players back to Lucky Landing and introduced a meteor that Epic said would draw closer as the season progressed.
OG 50v50 returned as a limited-time mode
OG 50v50 put two teams of 50 against each other. Epic scheduled the mode to end on April 14, 2025, at 9 AM ET; that was its announced run, not a promise of continued availability.
Classic items were set to return over the season
Epic listed the Guided Missile, Hand Cannon, Hunting Rifle, Remote Explosive, Heavy Shotgun, Port-A-Fort, Light Machine Gun, and Clingers among the items returning during the season. The announcement said some would arrive later, so the list should not be read as the launch-day loot pool.

The OG Pass had 45 tiers
The announced pass offered three premium outfits—Power Punk, Mecha R3X, and Sir Raven—plus accessories and alternate styles. At launch, Epic priced the premium pass at 1,000 V-Bucks and said Fortnite Crew members could access it. XP earned in any Fortnite experience advanced pass rewards. These are historical launch terms, not confirmation that the pass or its original price is available now.

The Walking Dead Universe addition was a creator toolkit, not a Walking Dead-themed OG Battle Royale season. Epic’s March 25 announcement and v34.20 ecosystem release notes described assets and templates for making custom islands.
- Prison Starter and Walker NPC templates, along with Walker NPCs.
- Themed weapons, prefabs, and galleries.
- Heavy Linework, a comic-book-style post-processing effect.
Creators could begin using the assets on March 25, 2025, at around 9 AM ET. Epic also announced Negan as a playable Shop character arriving April 4, 2025, and as an NPC beginning with v34.30 on April 8. Those dates describe the original rollout.

Creation access and island publication had separate dates
Having access to build with the assets did not mean a Walking Dead island could be published immediately. Epic initially scheduled the publishing lift for May 16, 2025, at 9 AM ET, then updated its announcement on May 15 to set the time to 12 PM ET because of a lighting issue affecting published islands. The release notes likewise said publication would begin May 16 through the Creator Portal.
Creator terms included a revenue share
Creators using the Walking Dead Universe content had to accept additional terms and follow the franchise’s brand and creator rules. Under those terms, 12% of the engagement payout for Walking Dead Universe islands was to be shared with Skybound Entertainment. This was a licensing-related creator payout term, not an affiliate commission.
