Fortnite Reload has its own Ranked ladder, separate from Battle Royale and Zero Build. Placement and eliminations both affect Ranked progression, but Epic does not publish a fixed points-per-kill or placement formula. Tournament rank requirements are different: they depend on the specific event, season, region, and format.
How Fortnite Reload Ranked works
Reload has an individual Ranked progression track. Your Reload rank does not raise or lower your Battle Royale or Zero Build rank; Epic maintains separate progression for each mode. See Epic’s Ranked mode support page.

The rank ladder
| Tier | Divisions |
|---|---|
| Bronze | I, II, III |
| Silver | I, II, III |
| Gold | I, II, III |
| Platinum | I, II, III |
| Diamond | I, II, III |
| Elite | One tier |
| Champion | One tier |
| Unreal | One tier |
Bronze is the lowest tier and Unreal the highest. Bronze through Diamond each have three divisions; Elite, Champion, and Unreal do not have numbered divisions.
Squad matchmaking and personal rank
In a Ranked Reload squad, the highest-ranked teammate determines the team’s matchmaking rank. Each player still has their own rank, and progress reflects both the team’s performance and that player’s personal rank. A mixed-rank squad therefore queues at its highest player’s level without merging everyone’s individual progression.

What affects Ranked progression?
Epic says placement and eliminations both play a major role in calculating Reload Ranked progression. Eliminating an entire opposing team adds progression. Repeatedly eliminating the same player or players with the same team becomes significantly less valuable after the second elimination. Epic described these Reload-specific rules in its September 24, 2024 Ranked Reload announcement.
Epic does not provide a public numeric formula, so there is no reliable universal number of points or percentage to expect for a kill, placement, or match. Progress can vary; don’t treat a particular result from one match as a guaranteed amount for another.

Why a win or several eliminations may not mean a fixed rank gain
Ranked progression is not the same as a simple event leaderboard tally. Placement and eliminations both matter, repeat eliminations are diminished under the rule above, and the game does not publish a fixed conversion into progress-bar percentage. Use the in-game bar as your actual result rather than relying on a supposed points-per-kill chart.

Epic Support currently says players unlock Ranked by completing the “Outlast 500 players” quest in Kickstart quests, then turning Ranked on from the mode selection screen. Epic’s Reload announcement describes this requirement for accounts that have never logged into Fortnite. Because unlock instructions can change, check the current in-game quest and Epic Support guidance if the quest is not available.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

What rank do you need for a Reload tournament?
There is no permanent rank threshold that qualifies you for every Reload competition. Eligibility is set by each event’s official rules and may vary by season, region, team format, and session.
| Named event and rules date | Rank requirement in the cited rules | Important scope |
|---|---|---|
| Reload Elite Series, December 10, 2025 | Each eligible teammate must reach Elite or higher in Reload Ranked for their region before the relevant session. | Applies to that event’s eligibility rules, not all Reload tournaments. |
| Chapter 7 Season 3 Solo Reload Victory Cup, June 3, 2026 | Gold or higher for the first event; Diamond or higher for the second; Champion for the third. | These are thresholds for the named seasonal solo cup, not ongoing requirements. |
The requirements above come from the respective Reload Elite Series official rules and Chapter 7 Season 3 Victory Cups official rules. Before entering, open the current tournament listing and its rules; confirm the region, session, team format, and required rank for that specific cup.

Ranked progress versus tournament scoring
Ranked progression and tournament leaderboard points are separate systems. Ranked determines movement on your personal ladder; an event’s rules determine how its leaderboard is scored. For example, the December 10, 2025 Reload Elite Series rules count only a team’s first ten eliminations toward its score in the specified sessions. That event scoring rule does not describe how the Ranked progress bar is calculated.

- For rank progress, consider placement and eliminations, including the full-team and repeat-elimination rules.
- For a cup leaderboard, follow that event’s scoring attachment rather than assuming Ranked rules apply.
- Do not assume Reload rank transfers to another mode or automatically meets another event’s entry gate.
Resets and demotion protection
Epic says ranks partially reset at the start of a new season. Its Reload announcement also describes resets at the start of a new Ranked period, with the starting rank based on the prior period’s finishing rank. Timing is season- or period-dependent; do not assume a fixed calendar date.
