On February 6, 2026, the official Fortnite Status account said an existing player had recently changed an unrelated username to “littlestjeff1,” after that handle appeared in public records. Epic said the email addresses referenced in those documents did not exist in its account system.
How the Fortnite rumor started
Social media users connected the handle “littlestjeff1,” reportedly associated with a YouTube account in Epstein-related public records, to a Fortnite Tracker profile that appeared to show later gameplay. Posts also cited alleged V-Bucks purchases and profile details. But a matching username and a tracker profile do not identify the person controlling the Fortnite account.
Epic’s explanation was that an existing player changed their username after the handle became public. Fortnite Status also said third-party trackers show a player’s current name, not a history of previous usernames. That distinction means the profile could appear under the newly chosen handle without showing that the account had used it earlier.
What Epic and its CEO said
The official Fortnite Status account called the connection “a ruse by a Fortnite player.” It said the account owner changed a previously unrelated username to “littlestjeff1” after the YouTube handle became public, and that Epic had no record in its account system of the email addresses referenced in the public documents.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney separately described the rename as recent and said it was not connected to the archived email addresses. Both statements address the identity claim; neither presents the tracker profile as evidence that Epstein played Fortnite.
What the V-Bucks references establish
The Daily Dot reported that references to V-Bucks purchases in the documents were redacted and did not identify who made a purchase. A redacted transaction reference cannot establish that Epstein made the purchase or controlled the Fortnite account.

The distinction is between a username appearing in reported public records, a tracker displaying a profile under that name, and evidence identifying the profile’s owner. The first two are not proof of the third. The original social posts and public records were linked in coverage but were not independently examined for this account.

Those points support a straightforward conclusion: the Fortnite profile did not verify the identity of its owner, and Epic’s public explanation attributed the handle to a recent rename by another player. The claim that Epstein was alive and gaming was not established by the cited account evidence.
