The Simpsons update was not playable when TechRadar published its live coverage on November 1, 2025: the event had ended and Fortnite was in downtime while the update was being prepared. That page’s “today” refers to November 1, 2025, not the present. At the latest status snapshot in the cited record, October 8, 2026, Fortnite and its listed services were operational.
What time did Fortnite’s Simpsons event start?
The available official announcement confirms the Simpsons season and its features, but does not establish an official regional start-time schedule for the event. The November 1, 2025 live-coverage page described the live event as over and Fortnite as being in downtime, with the Springfield update expected later that day. Its wording does not establish a precise time when the update became playable. TechRadar’s November 1, 2025 live coverage is the source for that historical status.

Why was Fortnite in downtime?
Fortnite goes offline during planned maintenance as an update is deployed. On November 1, 2025, the downtime followed the live event and preceded the expected Springfield update. These are separate moments: the live event ended, downtime began, and the update was expected to become playable afterward. The available sources do not give an exact November 1 restart time, so there is no supported time to quote for when players could log back in.
What did the Simpsons update include?
Epic described the Simpsons season as a month of Fortnite content. Its November 1, 2025 announcement included:

Is Fortnite down now?
At the status snapshot recorded on October 8, 2026, Epic’s public status page listed Fortnite, Game Services, login, parties, voice chat, and matchmaking as operational; it showed no incidents on October 7. The most recent Fortnite downtime in the returned incident history was the October 1, 2026 v42.30 maintenance, which began at 08:00 UTC and was marked complete at 10:31 UTC. That timing applies to that maintenance only, not to later updates. Service status can change; check Epic’s public status page for the current listing.

How to check for future maintenance updates
Epic recommends checking its public status page or the FortniteStatus social account for updates on when maintenance will end. Epic Support also says, “In-game emergency messaging will be posted ~24 hours before a planned downtime.” Follow FortniteStatus or check Epic’s status page when an outage is underway. The emergency-message timing is approximate, not a guarantee of an exact return time.
