Fortnite ecosystem update v36.30 was released on July 29, 2025. Epic’s notes focus on creator tools and island content, including new Squid Game assets, dynamic team emotes and 882 LEGO NPC styles. The official materials do not announce or schedule a live event, so the update should not be treated as confirmation that one is coming.

New creator content
- Squid Game assets: Epic documents assets that include English and Korean voiceover audio, Verse gameplay examples and features for creator templates.
- LEGO island NPCs: The update adds 882 styles for NPCs, giving creators more character options for LEGO islands.
- Outlaw Oasis: Epic names new prefabs and galleries for this theme.
Named weapons in the update summary
Epic’s summary also highlights Midas’ Gilded Eye Drum Gun and The Foundation’s MK-Seven Assault Rifle. The summary names them as highlights; it does not, by itself, establish event availability or a live-event reward.
How Dynamic Team Emotes work—and their beta caveat
In supported creator islands, players can use the Invite to Team and Leave Team emotes to join or leave teams. Epic labels Dynamic Team Emotes a beta feature and warns creators to expect compatibility and stability issues.

The documented problems can affect devices and volumes that rely on team-specific indexes. Epic specifically names the Timer, Camera, Save Point, Post Process and Player Counter devices, and notes that other team-specific functions may also be affected. Creators should consult the release notes before building island logic around team changes.
Does v36.30 confirm an upcoming Fortnite live event?
No. Neither of Epic’s official v36.30 pages announces a live event or gives event timing. The patch notes do not establish an event date, schedule, in-game access, rewards or a required download for event participation. The update’s creator features and content are not evidence of an upcoming live event.
