Fortnite Ecosystem v37.20 arrived on September 10, 2025, with additions for Creative and UEFN creators—not an officially documented Battle Royale skin or weapon drop. Epic’s update highlights the Roly Poly Spawner, Hive Stash Chest, O.X.R. and The Hive assets, creator tutorials, experimental Verse inputs, and new beta debug commands. The notes reviewed cover Ecosystem features; they do not establish what may have changed in separate Battle Royale, Save the World, or Ballistic updates.
What’s new in Fortnite v37.20?
Epic describes v37.20 as a Fortnite Ecosystem update for UEFN and Creative. Its main additions are devices and island-building assets, alongside tools and learning material for creators. [Epic’s v37.20 overview] [full Ecosystem release notes]
Roly Poly Spawner
This Creative device spawns a customizable Roly Poly. Epic describes the insect as rolling into a ball around a player, allowing the player and creature to bounce and roll around the map. It is an island-creation feature, not a newly announced Battle Royale enemy or weapon.
Hive Stash Chest
The Hive Stash Chest was added to the chest and ammo gallery. The detailed notes describe an unusual organic structure that can contain something or someone, giving creators a new object to use in their islands.

Did v37.20 add new Fortnite skins or weapons?
Epic’s v37.20 Ecosystem materials do not announce new Battle Royale skins or weapons. They focus on Creative and UEFN. The notes do mention weapons in the context of Creative features, settings, and fixes, but that is not evidence of a Battle Royale loot-pool update. The sources reviewed also do not establish whether separate notes covered other Fortnite modes.

What changed for Creative and UEFN creators?
Experimental Verse input subscriptions
Verse can now subscribe to input action events and mapping contexts. Epic lists five experimental character inputs:
- Jump
- Crouch
- Shoot (Weapon Primary)
- Target (Weapon Secondary)
- Sprint
Epic labels these inputs experimental and says more functionality will be added over time. The release notes also flag a current issue: input consumption is broken when using Custom 1–5 inputs (Fire, Aim, Crouch, Jump, Sprint). Epic’s workaround is to use and consume the equivalent standard inputs instead.

New tutorials and examples
The “Your First Island” feature example walks through an end-to-end gameplay setup. A beginner Verse tutorial uses that template to teach a scoring combo system, timers, weapon progression, and code refactoring. Epic also announced a Coordinate Battle island and tutorial.
Three beta debug commands
The Debug Commands Menu gains three options:
- Pause Round Timer
- End Round
- End Game
Other ecosystem changes and known issues
The release notes also describe improvements to proximity-chat performance and speaking-name and voice indicators, scoreboard HUD options, a damage-boost option that affects shotgun damage limits, and better physical interaction between the Teleporter and physical objects. They include fixes for island settings, items and weapons, devices, UEFN, Scene Graph, and experimental physics.
