Nightmare Neighborhood and Freddy Krueger
Players can visit the new Nightmare Neighborhood POI or Freaky Fields. Freddy Krueger appears as a boss; defeating him awards Freddy’s Nightmare, which lets players teleport into range and slash opponents.
Weapons and Cursed Overrides
The Bonerattler SMG is new for the event. The Wood Stake Shotgun and Pumpkin Launcher return. Cursed cartridge Overrides can grant one of three effects: invisibility while sprinting, increased damage at low health, or the ability to disguise a squad as Halloween props.

Fortnitemares is an event update within Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, which Epic announced on August 20. The season introduced Override consoles and mechanics, Sprites and Sprite Garden, Loot Hacks, and a Battle Pass led by Sonic the Hedgehog. Epic also listed planned Shop cosmetics from KINGDOM HEARTS, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Persona 5 Royal, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, 99 Nights in the Forest, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. That season announcement provides background; Fortnitemares is the newer featured update.
