Reopen the Accolade menu and check again. That is a sensible first step, not a guaranteed fix: some Accolade problems have been specific to a named objective or update, and there is no established universal workaround.
Check the Accolade itself before troubleshooting
Open the Accolades menu and read the full requirement for the exact Accolade that has not unlocked. Make sure you completed the stated condition, rather than a similar activity or a related Xbox achievement. An Xbox achievement and an in-game Accolade are separate progress indicators; unlocking one does not by itself establish that the other has registered.
If you used a pinned objective or driving-screen tracker, compare its state with the Accolade menu. A March 2026 indexed report from a Windows PC (Microsoft Store) player described a pinned checkmark showing complete while the Accolade screen remained incomplete. The report mentioned Seasonal Streak, Publicity Stunt, and Series Business. It illustrates a possible display mismatch, but does not establish that those Accolades remain broken now or that the same issue explains other cases. The original forum is no longer available following Forza’s forum retirement.
Try a full quit and device restart
- Quit Forza Horizon 5 fully rather than leaving it suspended or in Quick Resume.
- Restart the device you play on.
- Launch the game again, open the Accolades menu, and check whether the exact entry has updated.
Forza’s official reporting template recommends quitting the game and restarting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. If the entry remains incomplete, do not assume repeating the same steps will solve it; continue by checking whether the issue matches a known, specific Accolade bug.

Check for a fix or known issue tied to that Accolade
Forza has documented individual Accolade registration bugs and issued fixes for named cases. In its June 16, 2022 Series 9 update, Forza said that “It Just Works” would unlock as expected after completing the Car Mastery skill tree on the 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. That was a historical fix for that specific Accolade—not a general workaround for other objectives.
Check current Forza release notes and the Feedback Portal for the exact Accolade name. Forza’s reporting process tracks issue statuses and may include a workaround when one is available. A past report or fix is not enough to establish the current status of a different Accolade.

Gather details before reporting a persistent problem
Make the report specific enough for someone else to understand and reproduce the failure. Turn 10 Studios wrote in its February 21, 2023 Troubleshooting Hub article: “The more information you can provide, such as reproduction steps, the more beneficial it will be to our team.” Record:
- The exact Accolade name and its stated requirement.
- Your platform and storefront, such as Windows PC through the Microsoft Store or an Xbox console.
- Your game edition and account arrangement, including whether more than one account is involved.
- When you completed the requirement and whether a game update had recently installed.
- What you tried, including fully quitting the game and restarting the device.
- The steps that should trigger completion and what happened instead.
- A screenshot or other capture of the Accolade menu and, if relevant, the pinned tracker showing a different state.
Keep the exact wording of the requirement in your notes. If the issue is intermittent, describe when it occurs rather than presenting a single successful or unsuccessful attempt as a consistent result.

Send the issue to the right Forza channel
Forza retired its forums in July 2026. Its notice directs players to the Forza Feedback Portal for game bug reports and to Forza Support for account issues, release notes, and FAQs. Use the Feedback Portal when the Accolade itself appears not to register; use Forza Support if the evidence points to an account problem. The retired forums and Troubleshooting Hub are not current places to post a new report.

An incomplete menu entry after meeting a condition can reflect a display mismatch, a problem specific to that Accolade, an update-related issue, or another cause. The available official material confirms individual Accolade bugs have existed, but does not establish one cause, one workaround, or how often this happens across platforms. Treat any diagnosis as a possibility until it matches the exact Accolade and its current official status. No reliable failure-rate statistic is established, so isolated reports should not be taken as proof that the issue is widespread.
