It was available across platforms in April 2025, just before the game’s PS5 launch on April 29. The update was included with the base game; the Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack released separately as paid DLC.
What Horizon Realms added
Playground Games announced Horizon Realms on February 27, 2025, as a feature for all platforms. The announcement said it would be available April 25; the developer’s April 24 launch post said the update was rolling out that day. It brings together twelve locations: eleven returning Evolving Worlds and a new Stadium Track.
The returning locations are Stunt Park, Ice Rink, Oval Track, Summer Party, Neon Airstrip, Día de Muertos, Winter Wonderland, Lunar Drift Arena, Retrowave Highway, Cars and Coffee, and Stadium Maze. These environments had previously been available for limited periods.
Two ways to play the Realms
- Skill Mode: Focuses on scoring, with a separate leaderboard for each Realm and an aggregate leaderboard.
- Free Mode: Lets players explore alone or with friends in a Convoy, without the same leaderboard emphasis.
The update also added the permanent Horizon Stadium Circuit, a route with its own map event icon and Rivals leaderboard.

Accolades, badges, and reward cars
A dedicated Horizon Realms tab includes more than 60 accolades and twelve new badges. Completing accolades also awards #Forzathon Points. The update’s four new-to-Horizon reward cars are the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto, 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430, and 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6×6. Playground Games’ launch post also lists 17 new achievements on Xbox and Steam, and 17 Horizon Realms trophies among the 111 base-game trophies on PS5.
How to access Horizon Realms
New players must unlock the Festival Playlist before they can access Horizon Realms. Once it is unlocked, Playground Games says players can open the feature from the Campaign tab in the main menu or use its map indicator near the Stadium.

How the update relates to the PS5 launch
Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 edition launched April 29, 2025. Standard and Deluxe editions were scheduled for that date, while Premium owners could begin playing April 25. The Horizon Realms update was a game feature for all platforms, not content exclusive to the PS5 release.
Playground Games said the PS5 edition would have the same content as the Xbox and PC versions and support cross-play across Xbox consoles, PC, and PS5. Panic Button developed the PS5 version in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games.

What was free and what cost extra
Horizon Realms was announced as a free content update for all platforms. The Standard Edition includes the base game and its free content, including Horizon Realms. The paid Premium Edition includes the base game, expansions, and other bundled content, but the update itself was not a separate Premium-only purchase.
The Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack was separate paid DLC released alongside the PS5 launch. Playground Games listed its 2025 announcement price as $4.99 / €4.99 / £3.99 and said owners of the Ultimate Car Pack Collection would receive it at no additional cost. The pack includes:
