When did Forza Horizon 5 come to PS5?
Playground Games announced a spring 2025 release. Its March 10 FAQ set Premium Edition early access for April 25, with general access for all editions beginning April 29. The studio confirmed the general release on April 29, 2025, in its launch post.

The PS5 version brings the open-world driving game to PlayStation players. Set in Mexico, it features varied environments including jungles, deserts and beaches, alongside changing weather, a campaign, challenges and social play, according to PlayStation’s product page.
Can PS5 players race with Xbox and PC players?
Yes. Playground Games says PS5 players can use cross-play with Xbox consoles and PC. Cross-play means players on those platforms can play together; it does not establish that progress or saves transfer between platforms. The official pages cited here do not confirm cross-save or cross-progression.

Choose Standard for the base game, Deluxe if you want the Car Pass, or Premium if you also want both major expansions and the Welcome Pack and VIP Membership. Playground Games’ April 2025 launch post says Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure were also available to buy separately on PlayStation Store. Rally Adventure takes place in Sierra Nueva; Hot Wheels is set in Hot Wheels Park.

What PS5 features does the game support?
PlayStation lists haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as well as Quality and Performance modes. Its PS5 Pro listing also describes enhanced performance and advanced ray tracing. These are platform-holder feature descriptions, not independent benchmark results; the cited information does not quantify frame rates or compare image quality between modes. A standard DualSense controller supports the listed controller features; no special controller is identified as a requirement.
Do you need PlayStation Plus or linked accounts?
PlayStation’s UK support page says online gameplay requires an internet connection and PlayStation Plus. The subscription requirement is specific to the UK support information cited here; check the support page for the region where you play.

To play the Hot Wheels or Rally Adventure expansions, PlayStation support says you need an eligible purchase and linked Microsoft and PlayStation accounts. The opening expedition for an expansion unlocks after completing the Initial Experience. Check the current regional support information for exact requirements.

In its January 2025 announcement, Playground Games described the game as having nearly 900 cars, more than 40 thematic updates and two expansions. Those are announcement-time figures, not a verified current catalogue count.
