If you completed Forza Horizon 5’s “On Target” Treasure Hunt in February 2022 but couldn’t find the map circle or chest, reports describe more than one failure point—and no reliable general fix was established. The challenge was part of Series 4 Winter, so these reports concern a historical event, not a confirmed current bug.
What the On Target challenge asked you to do
“On Target” appeared in the Series 4 Winter Festival Playlist in February 2022. Its clue read, “Look! Rallying beasts chasing five bulls!” Contemporary guides interpreted that as hitting five targets in Horizon Arcade Air or a suitable Event Lab activity while driving a Rally Monsters car. Completing the requirement was expected to reveal a red search circle on the map. Event guide
Once the circle appeared, the reported chest location was on trucks near the yellow south entrance to Estadio Horizon. The reward was 50,000 credits and three Playlist points. Knowing the intended route can help you check the correct location, but it does not repair a chest that failed to spawn. Chest location guide
Which part of the hunt failed?
Player reports describe distinct symptoms. Identifying which one you saw is more useful than treating every missing chest as the same problem.

- Completion notification, but no red search circle: Some players said the challenge appeared complete while the map area never showed up, and there was no chest at the expected spot.
- Circle or chest marker, but no visible chest: Other players reached the search area or saw a chest icon, but reported that the chest itself was absent.
An archived forum discussion quoted an issue-list title, “Treasure Chest is Missing When Hunt is Complete,” and a participant said it had been added to the known-issues list by February 23, 2022. That label records an issue, not a technical explanation for every report. Archived forum discussion
Is there a fix?
The available accounts do not establish a reproducible, universal fix for the Series 4 On Target problem. Repeating the targets or restarting may be tempting, but the reports are inconsistent; some search-result accounts said restarting did not help. No verified procedure can be promised to restore a missing circle or chest.

A June 2022 player described a chest icon without a chest during a different week’s hunt and said the chest appeared after switching from PC to Xbox One X. That is one person’s account about another event; it does not show that changing platforms fixes On Target. Forum reports
