When did Forza Horizon 5 come to PS5?
The standard PS5 release date was April 29, 2025. Playground Games announced that date on February 28, then confirmed on launch day: “We are very excited to share that Forza Horizon 5 is now available for all players on PlayStation 5!” Read the release-day announcement from Playground Games.

Premium Edition early access began April 25, 2025. Forza’s announcement specified 12:01 a.m. local time for Premium access and for the April 29 Standard and Deluxe launch, with a US time-zone exception detailed in the post. See Forza’s early-access and Horizon Realms details.
Which PS5 edition should you choose?
The US PlayStation Store listing observed for this article showed three editions. Prices are US storefront prices and may change; check the listing for your region before buying.

Choose based on the content you want and the price in your own storefront. The official US listing also offers separate add-ons. PlayStation support says Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure are available through Premium Edition, the Premium Add-Ons Bundle, or standalone expansion purchases. Does Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 have cross-play?
Yes. PlayStation describes cross-platform play with friends on other platforms. The US PlayStation Store says a Microsoft account is required for cross-platform play. On first launch, players must sign in to both their PlayStation and Microsoft accounts; PlayStation support says offline play is available after that initial sign-in. View PlayStation’s game page.

What do you need for online play?
Online play is optional. The US PlayStation Store listing says PlayStation Plus is required for online play and specifies support for up to 12 online players with PlayStation Plus. Requirements can vary or change, so check the current store listing for your region. The listing also identifies DualSense vibration and trigger effect support. Horizon Realms, a game update, released alongside the PS5 launch. Forza’s April 25 announcement lists 111 base-game Trophies on PS5, including 17 obtainable in Horizon Realms, plus 27 Trophies for each expansion. These are in-game achievement counts, not sales or player figures.
