No official source reviewed confirms that Forza Horizon 5’s latest content update is its final one. Playground Games announced Horizon Realms as a free update for all platforms, featuring a curated collection of previously released Evolving Worlds and other surprises. The game’s official page describes a catalogue of more than 40 content updates and two expansions; that cumulative total does not make Horizon Realms a final-update announcement.
Did Playground Games announce a final Forza Horizon 5 update?
No. The official announcement reviewed does not call Horizon Realms the game’s final update. On January 30, 2025, Playground Games said it was working on “a special new free content update for all platforms, Horizon Realms.” It described the planned content as a curated collection of some previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside other surprises. Read the Playground Games announcement.
The wording “likely final update” should therefore be treated as speculation, not a confirmed developer statement. The official Forza Horizon 5 page describes the game as having more than 40 content updates and two expansions, and lists Horizon Realms among its modes. That is a cumulative description of the game, not a claim that any particular update will be the last. See the official Forza Horizon 5 page.
What does Horizon Realms add?
Playground Games said Horizon Realms would bring together a curated selection of previously released Evolving Worlds and include other surprises. The announcement does not establish that every earlier Evolving World would return, or give a complete itemized list of what the update contains. It does identify the update as free and intended for all platforms.

Which platforms are included?
The January 2025 announcement said Forza Horizon 5 was coming to PlayStation 5 in spring 2025 and that the PS5 version would have the same content as the Xbox and PC versions. It also said cross-play would be available across Xbox consoles, PC, and PS5. These were the details announced at that time; the announcement itself does not specify later platform-by-platform release timing for Horizon Realms.
Why did some players call Update 43 the last update?
A creator video published January 24, 2025, described Update 43 as a possible last update, but its description framed that as an assumption. That is not a Playground Games announcement and should not be presented as one. Later official material announced Horizon Realms, while the official release-notes search result lists updates through February 17, 2026 for Steam, Windows, and Xbox. The linked forum page now redirects to a Forza forums landing page, so the exact archive entry and date are not independently confirmed here.

Does Horizon Realms require a paid expansion?
Playground Games called Horizon Realms a free content update for all platforms. The announcement does not say that players must purchase an expansion to access it. Forza’s product page separately lists add-ons, including the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, but those are distinct from the free-update description.
