Forza Horizon 6 is already playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Its Xbox and PC release date was May 19, 2026; Premium Upgrade early access began May 15. The PlayStation 5 version is planned for later in 2026, but an exact date has not been announced on the official availability page.
Release date and platforms
Playground Games revealed Forza Horizon 6 during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show livestream on September 25, 2025. At the time, it announced an Xbox Series X|S and PC launch in 2026, with PS5 to follow after launch. The official FAQ later set the Xbox and PC release date at May 19, 2026, and said early access for Premium Upgrade owners began May 15. The game is now playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Xbox app and Steam.

How to play on Xbox or PC
Game Pass
Active Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play the Standard Edition at no additional cost under their membership, according to the official availability page. Xbox app, Microsoft Store and Steam
The game is available on PC through the Xbox app and Steam. A digital Xbox or Microsoft Store Windows PC purchase supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so you can play on both supported platforms without buying the game again. What is different about Forza Horizon 6?
The setting is a stylized version of Japan, not a mile-for-mile reconstruction. In a January 2026 Xbox Wire interview, Design Director Torben Ellert described the goal as capturing the feel of the country while keeping Horizon’s fast, permissive driving. The Tokyo environment includes suburbs, docklands and downtown areas, with places such as Shibuya Crossing, Ginkgo Avenue and Tokyo Tower. Ellert called the Tokyo environment “the most visually, radically different space we’ve ever built for a Horizon game”; that is his description of the team’s design, not an independent assessment. The campaign starts with the player as a tourist hoping to qualify for the Horizon Festival, then builds toward becoming a racing Legend. Playground Games says the game includes over 550 cars and a collection journal. Official game overview

PC features and steering-wheel support
The official PC feature article lists NVIDIA DLSS 4 features, AMD FSR 4 or FSR 3 depending on the GPU, Intel XeSS 2.1, ray-traced reflections and ray-traced global illumination. These are listed technologies, not independently measured performance results: actual performance varies with hardware, settings, background tasks, and whether upscaling or ray tracing is enabled. For steering wheels, the same article says every wheel compatible with Forza Horizon 5 is supported in Forza Horizon 6.
