Forza Horizon 6’s revealed map runs from Tokyo City to the snowy Japanese Alps. Playground Games has named several road inspirations, mountain passes, districts and story locations, but it has not published a complete road-by-road or point-of-interest index with coordinates. Use the official names below to get oriented, then treat the live in-game map and Collection Journal as the authority for your own completion progress.
What the Forza Horizon 6 map includes
Playground Games describes Forza Horizon 6 as its most dense and vertical map yet. The setting stretches from the downtown streets of Tokyo City to the snowy Japanese Alps, combining urban districts, rural scenery, mountain roads, modern infrastructure and traditional Japanese environments. Seasons are part of the presentation, so the same route can be read differently as weather and surface conditions change.

The publisher’s map reveal gives a geographic range and representative names rather than a full atlas. It specifically identifies roads inspired by Tokyo’s C1 loop and Gingko Avenue, plus mountain passes such as Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma. Those names are reliable anchors for orientation, but they are not evidence that every real-world road appears as a one-to-one recreation.
Playground Games also says Tokyo City is five times larger than Forza Horizon 5’s Guanajuato. That is a publisher comparison for Tokyo City, not a measured square-mile figure for the entire Japanese map and not a claim about total road length.

| Map element | What is officially established | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo City | Large urban area with suburbs, downtown streets, docks and industrial zones | Use the district changes, major roads and skyline landmarks to maintain direction in dense streets. |
| C1 loop inspiration | Named as one of the road inspirations in the map reveal | Expect a high-speed urban expressway character; the reveal does not provide a complete route diagram. |
| Gingko Avenue inspiration | Named road inspiration | Use the avenue as an urban reference point rather than assuming every real-world detail is reproduced. |
| Mt. Haruna | Named mountain pass | Look for a winding elevation route that contrasts with Tokyo’s flatter, denser streets. |
| Bandai Azuma | Named mountain pass | Use it as a northern or alpine route marker when planning mountain drives. |
| Japanese Alps | Snowy alpine region at the far end of the revealed setting | Expect the strongest visual contrast with the city and a useful destination when learning the map’s broad span. |
When the World Map unlocks
You do not have full map access from the first second of the prologue. The official starting guide says the World Map becomes available after the opening Tokyo City race and the multiplayer unlock. Finish that opening sequence before trying to use the map as a route-planning tool.
Once the map is available, six events are listed as ready to complete in any order. They are useful as early navigation anchors because each name identifies a different driving environment or event type.
| Event | Event type | What the name tells you |
|---|---|---|
| River Split – Speed Trap | Speed Trap | A speed-focused checkpoint near a river split or waterway reference. |
| Airfield Trail – Trail Race | Trail Race | An airfield-area route with a trail-racing emphasis. |
| Shirakawa Circuit – Circuit Race | Circuit Race | A closed or defined circuit associated with Shirakawa. |
| Highway View – Speed Zone | Speed Zone | A highway section intended for sustained speed through a measured zone. |
| Wind Farm Cross Country – Cross Country Race | Cross Country Race | Off-road terrain around a wind-farm setting. |
| Hokubu Time Attack | Time Attack | A timed route in the Hokubu area. |
The “any order” wording applies to the six events available at that point in progression. It does not mean every road, district or landmark is immediately accessible, nor does it turn the opening list into a complete activity catalogue.

The starting guide names several places during its walkthrough. These names are valuable for recognizing the opening drive and story beats, but the guide does not publish coordinates or claim that the list is exhaustive.
Tokyo Tower
Tokyo Tower appears during the early Tokyo City drive. Treat it as a skyline orientation aid: a visible vertical landmark can help you understand which way you are facing when the surrounding streets look similar. The guide identifies the tower in the drive-through context; it does not state that every visit or activity is attached to the tower.

Nangan
The prologue reaches the Nangan region. Because this is a named story destination rather than a coordinate listing, use it as a progression reference when following the opening sequence.
Irokawa Space Center
The prologue provides a view of a rocket launch from Irokawa Space Center. That scene establishes the space center as a named location in the world and gives players a memorable visual reference while they are learning the map’s regional layout. The source does not state its exact map grid position or list all activities located there.

The closing drive in the starting guide offers views from Shimanoyama to Ohtani. Both names belong in a mental route vocabulary for the early campaign. They should not be read as a promise that every intervening road or viewpoint is a separately tracked point of interest.
How to read the map by driving character
The revealed setting is easier to understand by grouping routes according to how they drive, rather than trying to memorize an unverified list of pins. The following categories are interpretations of the publisher’s descriptions, not tested rankings.
Urban streets and shortcuts
Tokyo City combines suburbs, downtown streets, docks and industrial zones. In practice, that means navigation changes block by block: a broad avenue can give way to tighter streets, a dockside grid or industrial access roads. Use the skyline, bridges, waterfront edges and district architecture as visual confirmation when the route line makes several close turns.

The C1 loop and Gingko Avenue inspirations are especially useful mental labels for urban driving. The reveal names them as inspirations, so do not assume the game’s roads carry the exact real-world numbering, exits or dimensions.
Mountain passes and elevation changes
Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma are the named pass references. Mountain routes provide a clear contrast with the city: elevation, switchbacks and changing sight lines make a compass heading less intuitive than a valley, ridgeline or visible pass. When a route climbs, watch the minimap for hairpins and use the road surface and guardrails to anticipate the next turn instead of relying on a distant destination marker alone.
Rural and cross-country terrain
The map reveal emphasizes rural landscapes as well as urban areas. The Wind Farm Cross Country event is an early, concrete example of that contrast. Open land can make a destination look close even when fences, elevation or unpaved detours lengthen the actual route. Keep the route line active and distinguish a straight visual line from a drivable connection.
Snow and alpine scenery
The Japanese Alps provide the strongest regional visual change in the reveal. Snow is a scenery and seasonality cue, not proof that every alpine road remains identical across all conditions. If you are learning the map, drive a route in more than one season and note fixed references such as major bends, structures or ridgelines.

- Finish the opening Tokyo City race and multiplayer unlock. The World Map is gated behind those early progression steps according to the starting guide.
- Open the World Map and identify the six initial events. Mark their names mentally by event type: speed, circuit, trail, cross country or time attack.
- Run one urban route and one rural route. An event such as Highway View or Shirakawa Circuit gives a city reference; Wind Farm Cross Country supplies a contrasting open-terrain reference.
- Use named scenery to confirm direction. Tokyo Tower, waterfront or industrial districts can validate a Tokyo City route, while mountain passes and alpine terrain indicate a change in elevation and region.
- Drive toward a named pass rather than relying only on a straight-line destination. Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma are useful pass names for learning how the city-to-mountain transition feels.
- After each discovery, check the game’s tracking systems. Record what the Collection Journal registers and keep that record separate from the Discover Japan stamp total.
This method gives you a repeatable way to learn the map while preserving an important distinction: a route that is memorable to you is not necessarily a collectible that the game counts.
Collection Journal versus Discover Japan stamps
The official overview says the Collection Journal records found cars, houses, landmarks, mascots and more. That makes it the appropriate in-game place to check whether a discovery has been logged.
A separate progression article says Discover Japan has seven stamps. The two systems are related to exploration, but the published descriptions do not establish that their counters match. Do not treat “seven stamps” as the number of landmarks, roads or points of interest on the entire map, and do not infer a complete POI total from a Collection Journal category unless the game itself labels that category as a total.
| System | What the published description says | What not to infer |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Journal | Records found cars, houses, landmarks, mascots and more. | It is not established as a complete road counter or a universal POI total. |
| Discover Japan | Progression includes seven stamps. | Seven stamps are not established as seven landmarks, seven regions or seven total discoveries. |
What is and is not confirmed about 100% completion
The official textual materials establish representative locations, route inspirations and progression context. They do not establish a complete region-by-region road inventory, exact coordinates for every landmark, or a definitive total of points of interest.

If a road or landmark appears to be missing
- Zoom the World Map in and out; a regional summary can hide detail that is visible at a closer scale.
- Drive the unconfirmed branch physically rather than assuming a route line passed over every connecting street.
- Check whether the item is a race, a landmark, a house, a mascot or another discovery type before comparing totals.
- Look in the Collection Journal for the discovery category that should contain the item.
- Keep Discover Japan stamps as a separate progression checklist.
- Record the game version and the date of your check if you consult a community map, because map coverage can change as players update it.
If the game’s own map and journal disagree, capture the exact region, activity name and counter shown on screen before reporting the issue. Without that information, “one road missing” can describe several different situations: an unvisited branch, a hidden map detail, a non-collectible road, or a counter that tracks a narrower category.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to use third-party maps responsibly
An exhaustive completion guide requires a live in-game check or an actively maintained external map. The official sources do not supply a complete coordinate index, so any external pin set should be labeled with its date, game version and provenance.
For a useful comparison, check whether a community resource explains what its pins represent. A map that mixes roads, landmarks, houses, mascots and events without separate filters cannot be compared directly with the Collection Journal. Likewise, an image that labels real-world inspirations may be illustrative rather than a one-to-one inventory of in-game roads.
Recommended Free Tools
- Prefer dated maps. Record when the resource was last updated.
- Check category definitions. “POI,” “landmark,” “discovery” and “road” may not mean the same thing.
- Verify disputed pins in-game. Use the World Map and Collection Journal as the final check for your save.
- Do not convert an unofficial total into an official count. Keep community numbers attributed to that community source.
Choosing a route for the kind of driving you want
| Your goal | Start with | Why it fits | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Learn dense city navigation | Tokyo City streets, including the C1 loop and Gingko Avenue inspirations | Districts, docks, industrial zones and downtown roads provide frequent visual changes. | The inspirations do not establish an exact real-world road recreation. |
| Practice sustained speed | Highway View – Speed Zone | The event is explicitly a speed zone on a highway-oriented route. | A speed-zone route is not a complete guide to every highway segment. |
| Practice technical corners | Mt. Haruna or Bandai Azuma pass areas | Named mountain passes represent the elevation and winding-road side of the map. | The reveal does not rank one pass as faster, harder or better. |
| Explore off-road scenery | Wind Farm Cross Country | It is the named early cross-country event and provides an open rural contrast. | Event boundaries do not prove the full extent of the surrounding rural region. |
| See story landmarks | Tokyo Tower, Nangan, Irokawa Space Center, Shimanoyama and Ohtani | These locations are named in the official starting walkthrough. | No coordinates or complete landmark list are published in that guide. |
| Work on progression | Collection Journal and Discover Japan screens | They are the two official tracking references described for discoveries and stamps. | Their counters should not be merged into one POI total. |
Map scale, density and verticality: what the wording means
Playground Games’ exact description is: “From the iconic downtown streets of Tokyo City all the way to the snowy Japanese Alps, Forza Horizon 6 introduces our most dense and vertical map yet.” The statement is from the publisher’s April 8, 2026 map reveal.
“Dense” is best understood as a description of how much urban and environmental variety is packed into the setting, while “vertical” points to the contrast between city streets, mountain passes and alpine elevation. Neither word supplies a road count, a square-mile measurement or a performance ranking for individual routes.
The five-times comparison applies specifically to Tokyo City versus Forza Horizon 5’s Guanajuato. It should not be repeated as “the Japan map is five times larger,” because the evidence does not support that broader wording.
Quick reference: confirmed names

| Road inspirations | C1 loop; Gingko Avenue |
| Mountain passes | Mt. Haruna; Bandai Azuma |

This is a confirmed-name reference, not a claim that the list contains every location in the game.
