For an engine (motor) swap in Forza Horizon 6, open Upgrades & Tuning > Custom Upgrade > Body Kits and Conversions, then inspect the swap choices listed for the selected car. Available swaps are vehicle-specific and can change the car’s aspiration, power and sound.
A separate battery or electric-motor conversion is not established by the currently documented official references. If that is what you mean, check the selected car’s live conversion menu rather than assuming the engine-swap procedure applies.

What “motor swap” means in Forza Horizon 6
The documented feature is called an engine swap. In the upgrade menu, the game presents alternative engines for individual cars. A swap can alter three characteristics named in the official reference: aspiration, listed power and sound. The game does not present one universal swap list shared by every vehicle, so a choice available on one car cannot be assumed to appear on another.

The menu is the authority for the car you are currently modifying.

Exact menu path for an engine swap
- Enter the garage or car-upgrade area with the vehicle you want to modify selected.
- Open Upgrades & Tuning.
- Choose Custom Upgrade rather than relying on a preset.
- Open Body Kits and Conversions.
- Review the engine-swap entries displayed for that vehicle. If no swap is listed, do not assume another car’s options can be installed.
- Select an available option only after comparing its displayed aspiration, power and sound with the current engine.
- Apply the conversion through the game’s normal confirmation prompt, then return to the upgrade summary to verify that the intended engine is installed.
The important detail is step five: the choices are generated for the particular car. The official reference documents the route to the category, not a single universal list of engines or a guaranteed option for every model.
How to compare the swaps the game shows
When several entries appear, use the information the game actually displays instead of judging by the engine name alone.

The reviewed official material does not establish how each option changes handling, weight, class points, lap times or performance in a particular event. Those decisions require your own in-game testing; they should not be presented as universal results.

The available official references document engine swaps. They do not confirm a general battery-swap feature, a separate electric-motor conversion system or an exact menu path for one.

That is an evidence limitation, not proof that a battery-related option can never appear in the game. Features can be vehicle-specific or added in a later update. To check your car:
- Select the car you want to convert.
- Follow the documented route to Body Kits and Conversions.
- Read every conversion label shown for that vehicle, looking for an entry that explicitly refers to a battery, electric motor or another electric power unit.
- If such an entry is present, use the requirements and confirmation details shown in that menu. Do not substitute the engine-swap instructions for a conversion the menu labels differently.
- If no battery or electric-motor entry appears, the official material currently available does not provide another verified procedure.
A conventional engine swap and a battery conversion are not interchangeable terms. An engine swap changes the combustion engine selected by the game; a battery or electric-motor conversion would be a distinct option that must be exposed by the car’s own menu.
Why your car may show different options
Swap availability is vehicle-specific
The official swap table applies choices by vehicle. Two cars in the same class, drivetrain category or manufacturer family can therefore show different engines, or one can show no swap at all. Use the selected car’s list as the source of truth.
Updates can add new choices
Playground Games’ Horizon Meets release notes dated October 5, 2026 say that the update included new engine swaps for several existing cars. This makes availability time-sensitive. A guide or video made before that update may omit an option that now appears, while an older setup may describe a swap that is not offered on a different vehicle.

The menu can differ by the car currently loaded
Always verify the car name before opening upgrades. If you switch vehicles and return to the same category, the available list can change because the conversion table is tied to the vehicle, not merely to the menu category.
A practical decision process before you install a swap
1. Record the current setup
Note the current engine’s aspiration, listed power and sound character as shown in the upgrade screen. This gives you a baseline for the choices that follow.
2. Read every listed alternative
Do not stop at the first option or assume the largest power number is automatically correct. Record the aspiration and power shown for each available engine and consider whether its sound suits the car.
3. Match the swap to your goal
- For a different power delivery or engine character, compare aspiration first, then power.
- For a sound-focused build, treat the sound change as a legitimate selection criterion rather than an afterthought.
- For a build aimed at a particular event, confirm the resulting setup in the game after installation; the official references do not publish event-specific handling or lap-time comparisons.
4. Confirm the result
After applying the conversion, reopen the upgrade summary and verify that the selected engine is shown. This prevents confusing a previewed option with the installed one.

The Steam product listing’s figures for the overall game, such as its car count and steering-animation range, describe the product rather than swap performance. They do not establish that one engine conversion is faster, lighter or better for a specific race.

“I cannot find Body Kits and Conversions.”
Check that you opened Custom Upgrade inside Upgrades & Tuning. The documented swap route is not a general settings page or a preset-selection screen.
“The car has no engine-swap entry.”
That can be normal. Availability is vehicle-specific, so the absence of an entry means the current menu has not exposed one for that car. Recheck the selected vehicle and the live menu after the game is updated.
“A guide shows an engine that I do not see.”
Compare the guide’s car with your own and check its publication date. The October 5, 2026 update added swaps for several existing cars, and option lists can change with updates.

“I want an electric conversion, but only combustion engines appear.”
The official references reviewed here do not verify a battery or electric-motor conversion procedure. If the menu does not explicitly list one for your car, there is no documented alternative path to provide.
“Which swap is objectively best?”
No universal answer is established by the official material. Compare the aspiration, listed power and sound shown for your car, then test the installed setup for your own event and driving preference. Published evidence reviewed for this guide does not provide handling, weight, class-point or lap-time rankings.
Keeping your information current
Because swap availability can change, use the current in-game menu when making a build. Treat older lists as historical references unless they identify the same car and a compatible game update. The October 5, 2026 release notes are a useful date marker, but they do not replace checking the live conversion list for your vehicle.
