Green boards are reported to award 1,000 XP, blue boards 3,000 XP, and yellow boards 5,000 XP. Contemporary guides also report 10, 30, and 50 Horizon Festival Points for those colors. The game’s official progression announcement confirms Bonus Boards as a Horizon Festival activity, but the indexed official material does not verify the color names, rewards, total count, or island distribution, so the figures below are identified as guide-reported.
The three XP Board types at a glance
XP Boards are the breakable Bonus Boards scattered through the Forza Horizon 6 map. Their color is the clearest way to identify the reward tier currently described by guides. A board is collected by driving into it; NoobFeed describes no separate activation step.

| Board color | XP per board | Horizon Festival Points | Typical access described by guides |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green | 1,000 XP | 10 points | Often beside roads or in otherwise accessible areas |
| Blue | 3,000 XP | 30 points | May require a detour, off-road line, or elevated approach |
| Yellow | 5,000 XP | 50 points | More likely to be high, awkwardly positioned, or reached with a launch |
Dot Esports and NoobFeed report the XP amounts, while Dot Esports and a Steam Community guide report the Festival Point values. The access patterns are broad observations, not a rule that applies to every board: a green board can still be awkward, and a yellow board may occasionally sit near a normal route.

What the colors mean—and what they do not
Color is the safest naming system
Some guides label the tiers “Standard,” “Advanced,” and “Legendary,” in that order. Those names appear in a Steam Community guide, but the official progression result available for the game does not confirm them. Unless the game itself displays those labels in its menus, use green, blue, and yellow when discussing a board. The colors and associated reward figures are consistent across the contemporary guide reports consulted for this topic.

Every board is still a collectible
The tier changes the payout, not the basic interaction. Guides describe the player driving into a board to smash it. There is no reported button prompt or secondary collection action. Once the board breaks, its reward is credited as part of the game’s progression activities.
How XP Boards contribute to progression
Board hunting serves two progression purposes in the guide reports: it grants XP directly and contributes Horizon Festival Points. Those points advance Wristband progression. The official Forza progression announcement identifies Bonus Boards as one of the Horizon Festival activities, but its indexed result does not state board-specific point awards. Treat the 10/30/50 figures as guide-reported values rather than an independently confirmed official table.
Because the payouts are tied to color, a route that clears several yellow boards can produce substantially more XP than one that happens to pass only green boards. That does not make lower-tier boards useless. Green boards are generally easier to collect and can be efficient when you are completing a region, filling a map checklist, or gathering the last few points needed for a Wristband threshold.
How many XP Boards are there?
Dot Esports, NoobFeed, and a Steam Community guide each report 200 boards in total. This is a game-guide count; the official material retrieved for the progression announcement does not verify it. The same sources describe the map as divided into 10 regions. The Steam Community guide and NoobFeed also report nine boards on Legend Island, but that island distribution is a secondary-source claim rather than an official figure.

Use the total as a practical completion target in a guide or in-game checklist, not as a statement that has been confirmed by an official board database. If a later patch changes the map or collectible count, the in-game map total should take precedence over older guide totals.
Finding boards efficiently
Filter the map before you drive
Published guides recommend filtering the map for collectibles so that board icons remain visible while other activities are hidden. The exact menu wording can change between builds, but the principle is the same: open the world map, open its filters, leave the Bonus Board or XP Board collectible category enabled, and remove visual clutter from unrelated events. If your version uses “Bonus Boards” rather than “XP Boards,” select that category; both names are used for the same collectible in current coverage.
Clear one region at a time
A region-by-region sweep is more reliable than chasing isolated icons across the entire map. Pick a boundary, mark a nearby board, and continue through the surrounding roads and trails before moving on. This approach reduces backtracking and makes it easier to identify which color tiers you have already cleared. It also gives you a natural way to check a difficult board from several sides instead of repeatedly attempting the same approach.

Inspect the terrain around elevated boards
When a board is above a road, on a ledge, or beyond an embankment, do not assume the shortest line on the map is the usable route. Guides advise looking around the board for a ramp, hillside, or natural launch point. Circle the area on nearby roads, climb from the rear if the terrain allows it, and approach from the side with the most run-up. A board icon can be close to your car in a straight-line sense while still being unreachable from the road directly beneath it.

Use Rewind after a missed jump
NoobFeed recommends Rewind when a jump attempt misses. Rewind can return you to the approach rather than forcing a long drive back to the launch point. Set up the run again with a straighter line or more speed, and check whether a different angle avoids a rock, fence, or change in elevation. This is guide advice, not a claim of independent vehicle testing, and the exact handling of Rewind can depend on your selected assists and game settings.
A practical collection workflow
- Open the map and enable board collectibles. Hide unrelated event and activity icons where the interface permits.
- Choose a single region. Start with boards near connected roads so you can establish a route before tackling remote placements.
- Mark the nearest board. Drive to the icon and identify its color before deciding whether the direct road approach is viable.
- Smash the board. Drive into it; the guide-described interaction does not require a separate activation.
- Record difficult terrain mentally or with your map route. If the board is elevated, locate a ramp, hillside, or embankment that provides a run-up.
- Retry with Rewind when necessary. Reset a failed jump and alter your speed or angle instead of abandoning the board.
- Sweep the surrounding icons. Finish the local cluster before crossing the map to another region.
- Check your completion progress. Compare the remaining map icons with the reported 200-board target, while remembering that the total comes from guides rather than the retrieved official page.
Choosing what to prioritize
When you want XP quickly
Prioritize yellow boards when their routes are practical because guides report the highest payout—5,000 XP per board. A yellow board that requires a long detour may still be less efficient than several nearby green boards, so route distance and failed attempts matter. Blue boards provide the middle value of 3,000 XP and can be a useful compromise when a yellow placement is too technical.
When you are advancing a Wristband
Prioritize any reachable board cluster. The reported Festival Point awards are 10 for green, 30 for blue, and 50 for yellow, so a mixed route can build points while also granting XP. The official announcement confirms that Bonus Boards belong to the broader progression activity set; the color-specific point values remain guide-reported.
When you are completing the map
Do not skip green boards simply because their XP value is lower. Completion requires clearing every icon, and the easiest boards can help reveal which remaining collectibles are genuinely hidden on cliffs, behind structures, or on off-road approaches. A region sweep also prevents a late-game search in which only a handful of poorly placed boards remain.

Legend Island and unlock considerations
The Steam Community guide reports nine boards on Legend Island and says access follows earning the Gold Wristband. NoobFeed also reports the nine-board figure. These details are not confirmed by the retrieved official progression material, so treat them as guide-based planning information. If the island is not visible in your game, verify that your Wristband progression has reached the required stage and that any associated event or map area has been unlocked in your edition and current build.
Common problems and fixes
The board icon is visible, but the board is not on the road
Look for a second approach. The guides specifically describe high or awkward placements that require a ramp, hillside, embankment, or a different direction of attack. Follow the terrain around the icon rather than driving directly beneath it.
The jump reaches the board but does not break it
Use Rewind, then adjust the launch line. A small change in angle can matter when the board sits beside a slope or obstruction. Approach with enough run-up to make contact with the board itself, not merely the ground below it.

The map feels overloaded with icons
Return to the map filters and leave only the board collectible category enabled. Regional sweeps are easier when races, showcases, and unrelated activities do not obscure the board icons.
Your count does not match 200
Check whether your guide or map is using the same regions and current game version. The 200 total is reported by several 2026 guides but is not verified in the fetched official announcement. Also check remote areas and the reported Legend Island group if that location is unlocked in your game.
What is officially established?
The official Forza progression announcement identifies Bonus Boards as a Horizon Festival activity and confirms that the game contains progression systems. The retrieved official result does not provide the board color tiers, XP amounts, Festival Point values, 200-board total, named labels, regional distribution, or Legend Island requirement. Those details come from contemporary guides: Dot Esports, NoobFeed, and a Steam Community guide. Keeping that distinction clear matters if a future update changes rewards or terminology.
