Which Xbox games were announced for PlayStation and Switch?
Xbox’s February 21, 2024 announcement named four games headed to additional platforms. The destination differed by title: only Pentiment and Grounded were announced for Nintendo Switch, while Hi-Fi RUSH and Sea of Thieves were announced for PS5.

These platforms and dates are those Xbox gave in its February 21, 2024 announcement. The cross-play details apply specifically to Grounded and Sea of Thieves; Xbox did not make the same claim for Pentiment or Hi-Fi RUSH in that announcement.

Pentiment: PS4, PS5, and Switch
Obsidian Entertainment’s narrative adventure features a visual style inspired by history. Xbox listed February 22, 2024 as its release date on PlayStation and Switch.

Hi-Fi RUSH: PS5
Tango Gameworks’ rhythm-based action game was announced for PS5, with a release time of March 19, 2024, at midnight UTC. Switch was not among the platforms named in Xbox’s announcement.
A January 6, 2026 Windows Central report said a physical PS5 edition was planned through a collaboration involving publisher Krafton and Limited Run Games. That report does not establish current stock, retailer listings, or the edition’s contents.

Grounded: PS4, PS5, and Switch
Obsidian’s co-op survival adventure was announced for release on April 16, 2024. Xbox said cross-play would let players on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC play together. At announcement, Xbox said the game had welcomed 20 million players; that is the company’s figure, not an independently audited count.
Sea of Thieves: PS5
Rare’s shared-world adventure was announced for PS5 on April 30, 2024. Xbox specified cross-play across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. It described the game’s community as more than 35 million players; this, too, is Xbox’s reported figure.

Why did Xbox bring these games to other consoles?
Xbox framed the move as a way to bring games to more people and devices and grow their communities. Matt Booty, then President of Game Content & Studios, wrote: “The studios that built these celebrated games have drawn on their multi-platform experience to open the worlds they created to even more players and communities.”
The same announcement said Xbox consoles would continue to offer a flagship experience, including day-one Game Pass releases for first-party games. The statement described Xbox’s position in that announcement; it did not establish a permanent policy that all Xbox games would launch on PlayStation or Switch.
