The table separates an actual no-cost period from a money-back promise. A refund window can still let you test a server, but it may require an initial payment and compliance with the provider’s refund rules.

Why the listing cannot be treated as confirmed
ScalaCube’s ARK plan page lists a price of “FREE” and unusually generous headline specifications: 32 GB of RAM, an eight-core CPU, 50 GB of SSD storage, unlimited traffic and bandwidth, and DDoS protection. The address format is restricted to an IP plus port rather than a conventional subdomain.
That information conflicts with a separate ScalaCube free-ARK page whose published statement is: “Unfortunately, we don’t provide free game servers for ARK: Survival Evolved anymore.” The statement appears in an older indexed page, so it may be stale, but it is still the provider’s own wording. Until the current signup flow lets you create an ARK server and shows the same terms, regard the plan as unconfirmed rather than as a dependable free host.

Renewal and deletion risk
An older ScalaCube help article says free servers must be renewed with a “Renew for free” action approximately every two days. If the renewal is missed, the server and its contents are automatically deleted. Because that article is dated, the interval and deletion policy may have changed; never place an irreplaceable save on the service without independent backups.
Survival Evolved versus Ascended
The contradiction concerns ARK: Survival Evolved. A free plan label alone does not prove support for ARK: Survival Ascended, whose server software and resource profile are different. Ask support or confirm the exact game selector in the current panel before installing mods or transferring a world.

FreakHosting: two-day trial
FreakHosting lists a free two-day trial on selected game-server and VPS plans and includes ARK among supported games. “Selected” matters: the offer may not apply to every location, configuration or edition. Kamatera and VPSServer.com are listed with 30-day VPS trials valued at up to $100. They provide a virtual machine, not a click-to-play ARK installation. The longer period is useful for testing performance and administration, but the work shifts to you:
- Select an operating system and a VPS size that meets the current ARK server software requirements.
- Install the dedicated-server files using the game’s current documentation or the image supplied by the VPS provider.
- Configure firewall rules, ports, passwords, updates, backups and restart behavior.

Neither VPS listing confirms that ARK: Survival Evolved or ARK: Survival Ascended is preinstalled. How to get a free ARK server without losing your world
- Choose the edition first. Write down whether your players use Survival Evolved or Survival Ascended. Do not assume that an “ARK” label covers both.
- Classify the offer. Mark it as permanent-style, a fixed-hour trial, or a money-back guarantee. A refund promise may require an upfront payment.
