FriendSLAP is the label used for Keep It Up!, a four-player cooperative game in which your team must move one balloon through 15 rooms without letting it touch the floor. The reliable way to keep it airborne is not to spam the slap button: read the balloon’s arc, make small corrective contacts, preserve a predictable lane, and tell teammates who is taking the next save.
The developers have not published frame-perfect timing windows, input-latency targets, or a formal physics guide. The timing advice below is therefore practical strategy inferred from the documented objective and hazards, not tested numerical data.

What FriendSLAP (Keep It Up!) actually is
FriendSLAP is the name used for Hitbox Entertainment’s game Keep It Up!. It is built around a simple rule with increasingly difficult consequences: four players cooperate to slap one balloon through a sequence of rooms while keeping it off the ground.

Between attempts, the physics-playground lobby gives teams a place to experiment, while unlockable cosmetics and more than 25 character-customization sliders provide progression outside the obstacle course. The title is not a physical balloon product or a conventional sports simulator. The balloon is an in-game object, and the challenge comes from shared positioning, changing room geometry and the penalty for a mistake.
The failure condition: what happens when the balloon drops?
The balloon touching the ground is the central failure event. The official copy states: Drop the balloon? It literally explodes. Run out of lives? The whole team is incinerated… Simple!
That wording establishes two separate stakes:
- A drop immediately destroys the balloon and ends the current attempt.
- If the team exhausts its available lives, the whole group is eliminated rather than one player simply restarting alone.
The announcement does not specify the number of lives, whether every room uses identical life rules, or how much recovery time a team gets after a failed contact. Do not build a strategy around an assumed life count. Treat every low balloon as an emergency and every attempt as a shared resource.
How to time a slap without sending the balloon into danger
There is no published universal timing number to memorize. The useful timing cue is the balloon’s movement: its height, horizontal drift, speed and relationship to nearby geometry. Use the following sequence on every contact.
1. Read the arc before moving
Watch where the balloon is going, not only where it is now. A balloon that is still rising may need no immediate hit. A balloon at the top of its arc is about to lose vertical speed, while a balloon descending toward the floor, a wall or a hazard needs a player to take responsibility.
Use the moment when the arc begins to flatten as a planning cue. That gives the team time to choose a safe contact point instead of reacting after the descent has become unrecoverable.
2. Prefer a light correction when the balloon is already safe
When the balloon is centered and climbing, avoid adding a dramatic hit merely because a player is nearby. A small corrective slap is generally easier for the next teammate to read than a forceful hit that creates a new emergency. The objective is a repeatable trajectory, not maximum height.

This is a strategy recommendation, not a claim about a measured force curve. The developer has not published the exact impulse created by each input, so teams should calibrate the feel in the demo rather than assume that one tap always produces the same result in every room.
3. Save first, then preserve forward progress
A late upward hit can keep the balloon from touching the floor but still send it into a ceiling, spike or laser. When a save is necessary, aim for the safest available lane rather than blindly hitting straight up. Once the balloon is stable, the next player can guide it forward with a controlled touch.
Think of each contact as having two jobs:
- Prevent an immediate drop.
- Leave a manageable approach for the next player.
If those jobs conflict, stopping the drop comes first. A team cannot recover a perfect route after the balloon has exploded.
4. Watch the contact point, not just the center of the screen
Players often swing at the balloon’s apparent center while standing at different depths or angles. Instead, choose the point where the balloon will meet the player’s reach and compare that point with the nearest floor, wall and hazard. A contact that occurs beside a wall may create a rebound your teammate cannot cover; a contact in open space usually gives the next player more time to react.
5. Stop chasing a bad trajectory as a group
When several players rush toward the same descending balloon, they can block the person with the best angle. The first player to call the save should take it, while the others move into likely rebound positions. If the first attempt misses, the closest player should make the next correction rather than waiting for a preassigned turn.
Four-player positioning and voice calls
Keep It Up! supports up to four players. A four-person team should divide attention rather than have everyone track the balloon from the same spot.
A practical coverage pattern
- Caller: watches the next hazard and announces direction or height before the contact.
- Primary contact: takes the next intentional slap and tries to keep the balloon in a predictable lane.
- Rebound cover: occupies the likely landing or bounce area after the hit.
- Central safety: stays ready for a short correction if the balloon stops where no one else expected.
This is a flexible pattern, not a fixed formation. Shift roles when a room narrows, when a fan changes the balloon’s route, or when one player has the only safe angle. The important principle is that one person owns the next contact while another person covers the miss.

Call the action before the slap
Use short, unambiguous calls such as left
, high
, short
or save
. Say the direction before the balloon reaches the contact point, not after it has already been hit. Early calls reduce simultaneous panic swings and let teammates move into the next position.

Keep calls descriptive rather than personal: identify the side, the height and the hazard. For example, high left, laser next
gives the group more useful information than naming a player after the mistake has happened.
Make teammate collisions deliberate
The announcement explicitly says players can slap teammates and knock them out of the way. That creates both a recovery tool and a risk. When the balloon is stable, maintain spacing so a teammate can reach the next contact. If someone is blocking the only rescue lane, a planned knock can clear the route; an unannounced collision near a descending balloon can remove the person who was about to save it.
Call a displacement before making it, and do not use teammate hits as routine movement. Reserve them for a clear positional purpose.
How to handle each documented hazard
The announcement names four major hazards, but it does not publish their exact forces, timing windows or collision behavior. The safest approach is to learn each room’s pattern in the demo and apply conservative contacts until the route is familiar.
Spikes
Spikes punish lateral drift as well as a low trajectory. Keep the balloon in the open side of the room and avoid a forceful correction that carries it across the hazard. Assign one player to watch the spike line while another handles the balloon; the caller should identify the safe side before the primary contact occurs.
If the balloon is already near a spike, prioritize a short stabilizing touch that moves it away from the point of impact. Do not assume that gaining height is automatically safe if the upward path crosses another hazard.

Fans
Fans can make a previously predictable arc difficult to read. Approach a fan room with a wider safety margin: keep a rebound player on the side toward which the balloon is likely to drift and use smaller corrections until the team understands the airflow. Since the announcement does not state the fan strength or direction in each room, avoid relying on a universal timing rule.
After the balloon exits the fan’s influence, pause the aggressive movement. Let the trajectory settle before attempting a long forward slap.

Lasers
Lasers turn height and timing into route decisions. The caller should announce whether the next safe lane is above, below or to one side of the beam, while the primary contact chooses the smallest movement that reaches that lane. A high hit that appears helpful can be dangerous if it sends the balloon directly through the next laser.
Keep a rescue player positioned after the beam, not only before it. The most difficult contact may be the first one after the balloon clears the laser.
Narrow corridors
Tight corridors reduce the room available for correction and make player spacing more important. Move into a single-file or staggered arrangement, with one player controlling the next contact and another covering the exit. Avoid multiple people striking from opposite sides; a sideways error has less room to recover than it would in an open room.
Use short calls such as center
, left wall
or exit
to identify the corridor lane. Once the balloon clears the narrow section, spread out again so the team can cover a wider rebound.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- Pause long enough to read the geometry. Identify the next hazard, the open lane and the likely rescue area before anyone makes a dramatic hit.
- Choose the next caller and primary contact. Everyone else should move into coverage positions instead of crowding the balloon.
- Set a target lane. Decide whether the next contact should keep the balloon left, centered, right, high or short. A shared target is easier to execute than four individual guesses.
- Make the smallest useful slap. Correct the arc while preserving a route for the next player. Avoid adding force when the balloon is already safe.
- Confirm the rebound. The caller announces where the balloon is now heading, and the coverage player takes responsibility for the next save.
- Reset after the hazard. Once the balloon clears spikes, fans, lasers or a corridor, spread the formation and reassess instead of carrying the previous room’s positioning into the new geometry.
- If the balloon drops, review one decision. Identify whether the failure came from late movement, conflicting calls, an unsafe lane or a collision. Change one behavior on the next attempt so the team can tell what helped.
Practice drills in the physics-playground lobby
The lobby is described as a physics playground, making it the natural place to build consistency before attempting the 15-room sequence. Because no official drill timings are published, use qualitative goals rather than invented numbers.
Arc-reading drill
Have one player make a gentle contact while the others call whether the balloon is rising, flattening or descending. The goal is to make the call before the next contact, not to hit as often as possible.
Lane-control drill
Choose a left, center or right lane and attempt to keep successive contacts inside it. If a slap sends the balloon across the entire space, reduce force on the next attempt and have the rebound player move earlier.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSingle-caller drill
For one sequence, only one player gives directional commands. This exposes unclear vocabulary and prevents four simultaneous instructions. Afterward, rotate the caller so every player learns to read the trajectory.
Recovery drill
Deliberately allow a low or drifting approach, then practice assigning one saver and one cover player. The aim is not to manufacture drops; it is to stop the group from collapsing into the same spot when a normal mistake occurs.
Common mistakes and precise fixes
| Problem | Why it causes drops | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Everyone swats at once | Multiple contacts create an unpredictable route and block the best angle. | Call one primary contact and keep a second player on rebound cover. |
| Hitting as soon as the balloon is nearby | A safe climb becomes an unnecessary high or sideways trajectory. | Wait for the arc to flatten or drift toward danger, then make a light correction. |
| Saving straight upward | The balloon avoids the floor but may meet a ceiling, spike, fan or laser. | Choose the safest open lane, not simply the greatest height. |
| Watching only the balloon | The player notices the contact too late because the hazard was ignored. | Split attention: caller watches the next geometry while the primary player watches the contact point. |
| Crossing in front of teammates | A collision removes the player with the best rescue position. | Maintain spacing and announce a deliberate displacement before slapping a teammate. |
| Using the same formation in every room | Narrow corridors and open rooms require different coverage angles. | Compress into a staggered line in tight spaces and spread out after the hazard. |
| Assuming an exact timing number | The available materials do not establish frame windows or identical hazard forces. | Learn each room’s behavior in the demo and use the balloon’s arc as the timing cue. |
| Blaming the last player only | The failure may have started with an earlier unsafe lane or missing call. | Review the first decision that made the rescue difficult, then change one team habit. |

How to improve between attempts
Teams improve faster when they separate mechanical mistakes from communication mistakes. After a failed run, ask three questions:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Was the balloon already descending or drifting before anyone called it?
- Did the primary contact know the intended lane?
- Was a teammate positioned to cover the rebound or exit?
If the first answer is yes, work on earlier arc reading. If the second is no, shorten the call and make it before contact. If the third is no, change positioning rather than trying to hit harder. This review keeps the next attempt focused and avoids replacing a solvable spacing problem with frantic inputs.
The most dependable teams treat every slap as part of a chain. One player creates a manageable trajectory, another predicts where it will arrive, and the caller gives the group enough warning to move. That rhythm is more valuable than a single spectacular save.
