Pick the mode that matches your goal
Halfbrick’s 2016 beginner’s guide describes three modes with different risks and priorities. The details below reflect that guide’s version context; menus and features may differ in later editions.

10 tips for better Fruit Ninja scores
1. Aim for multi-fruit combos
A combo is three or more fruit caught in one swipe, and Halfbrick’s guide says a combo doubles the combo score. Look for fruit that are close enough to catch together, then make one controlled cut rather than several hurried ones. The official guide puts it plainly: “Be patient and go for slow, strategic swipes instead of hacking away like crazy!”
2. Wait for fruit to rise
Cutting fruit low makes it harder to see what else is on screen. Give a launch a moment to develop so you can judge where fruit and hazards are before swiping; this is especially useful in modes where a missed fruit or bomb can end a run.

3. In Arcade, keep combos coming
Halfbrick’s guide says combos activate Blitzes and that the Blitz meter resets if too much time passes without a combo. When the screen gives you a safe opportunity, land another multi-fruit swipe instead of letting the interval stretch. Do not chase a combo through a risky or unclear screen.
4. Know what the special bananas do
In the guide’s Arcade description, the three special bananas have distinct effects:

These descriptions are from Halfbrick’s 2016 guide; check the mode and version you are playing rather than assuming every edition behaves identically.
5. Use rapid cuts for the end-game pomegranate
Halfbrick specifically calls out multiple cuts on the pomegranate near the end of a round. Treat this as a situational exception, not a reason to swipe wildly throughout play: ordinary fruit clusters reward aiming, while the pomegranate is the moment the guide identifies for repeated cuts.

6. Check whether power-ups apply in your mode
Halfbrick’s power-up guide documents Berry Blast, Peachy Time, and Bomb Deflect, but says power-ups are for Original modes and some are mode-specific. The guide describes Berry Blast as adding five points per strawberry, Peachy Time as adding two seconds per peach, and Bomb Deflect as deflecting up to three bombs. These are guide-specific descriptions, not a promise that each item is available or works the same way in every current version. Check the in-game menu before planning around one.
7. Treat critical hits as luck
The 2016 guide says critical hits are random and award ten extra points per hit. Since you cannot reliably plan when one will occur, focus on sound swipes and treat any critical hit as a bonus.

8. Experiment with blades and dojos
Halfbrick encourages players to mix blades and dojos to suit their play style, but its guide does not rank a universally strongest combination. Try the options available in your edition and see which effects fit the way you play; do not assume an older recommendation is best for every version.
9. Use a mode change as practice, not a shortcut
If bombs make you hesitate, Zen’s bomb-free setup in the 2016 guide gives you room to work on timing and controlled swipes. Then take those habits into Classic or Arcade, where hazards or time pressure change the challenge. Zen practice does not remove those risks from other modes.

10. Be cautious with old unlock and currency advice
Older tutorials may explain currencies, menus, blades, or power-ups that no longer match the game you have installed. Halfbrick’s current Apple App Store listing describes Classic, Arcade, and Zen alongside multiplayer, events, optional in-app purchases, and unlockable items; its content and event details can change. The listing also records later updates, so use the current game’s menus for unlock instructions rather than treating historical currency advice as universal.

The official guidance supports scoring techniques, mode selection, and version-aware use of features; it does not establish a reliable cheat code or a guaranteed score method. In practice, the useful “cheat” is understanding when a deliberate combo is worth attempting, which mode you are in, and what hazards or power-ups that version actually includes.
For version-specific equipment details, Halfbrick’s Fruit Ninja Classic Help Center notes changes associated with update 3.0.0, including blade-power handling and dojo powers. That is guidance for Fruit Ninja Classic, not a blanket description of every Fruit Ninja edition.
